Against brits as PE I would try going T3 before T4 and get out an AC and start inflicting mass damage on those tommy squads. If you play right and have good map control you can easily get out an ATHT before his Stewart hits the field. It's always better to get vehicles to fight tommy squads than panzergrens because you're not taking any casualties and you can just repair the vehicle if it gets damaged. That means you have more manpower to spend as well as reducing the amount of veterancy lts get. If you're struggling against the British blob then I would also suggest saving up for a few goliaths. Those things can immediately make the brit player call gg if you get it right.

My PE game is just starting to get better after lots of effort and I am now level 9. Am doing OK versus Amis but Brits are a problem. In the early game I'm using a T2-T4 strategy but on most maps good Brit players are producing big infantry blobs that are pwning me. The Bren / PIAT combo is lethal against my vehicles and the increasingly popular multiple recce / snipe squads (they spend 25 munis and I lose 1/3 of a squad) are making my life a misery.

Where are the insults? I was perfectly civil.

The difficulty curve of CoH is steep which is all part of the appeal, but forums like this can be an echo chamber for a tiny slice of the community (and don't get me wrong, I watch replays, love SNF even though my game still has a long way to go).

The esports / elite crowd can be intimidating. They need to recognise this if a pool of better players is to develop.

So there needs to be a shallow end. I was playing vCoH for a loooong time before I got into it competitively. I think all player types can be catered to by simply making stuff optional. There should be difficulty sliders for almost everything.

Before you flame me off the board, none of theses should EVER apply to ranked games. Ranked games should be the standard that all aspire to. But create a nice warm shallow end with lots of options and today's casual gamer might become tomorrows DEVM or Tommy or Sepha.

I used to comp stomp and play the occasional basic match, now I'm knocking on the door of level ten on the 1 v 1 (like I say, I'm a very average player and probably will always be) and love CoH.
