As ever great play by Stephenn and a fun cast. Stephenn's Soviet play is one in the eye for people who think you need to cheese to win as USSR in competition-level play (Tier 2 and not a single MG).
But am I alone in thinking the engine crits on AT nades are too efficient for cost? Admittedly Dieter could have screened his panthers slightly better with infantry, but I reckon 90% of nades screwed his panthers over with crits.
As Dane suggests, I too was almost shouting "Get a KT!" at Dieter but he went down the Panther route.
Us older bunch like WWII games ... if the others are like me their parents were kids during the war and had grandparents who fought in it, so it fascinates us. Reminds me of allot of the miniature games I have played ... Flames of War, Advanced squad leader, etc...
COH2 is also not a how fast can you micro game (after about 25 your micro starts to slide ... proven science, sorry kids ... it happens)... it does reward strategy.
Turn base games are fun, but this is more like a whole chess board with all the pieces moving, which is intense, which I prefer over a 1st person shooter.
I want to love Vaux farmlands, I really do. Sadly I think it's too big and *square* shaped for a 2 v 2. If it was more of a Rails and Metal shape I think it would be a classic, but at the moment it favours OKW retreat-point camping a little too much.
I was playing 4 v 4 random as allies. The other side were gnarly Axis players. By the eight minute mark they have solid T1 and T2 units set-up and winning fuel points. I'm left on my own getting dogpiled on a fuel point by two players and my side are tooling around in the middle spamming snipers.
Sorry, that's not rage-quitting, that's making a measured decision about what is and what is not fun.
I don't do it often, but I will occasionally. I'm just being candid.
Sorry, but if you hop into a 4 v 4 on City 17 and two of your teammates immediately camp the non-resource point near the central VP and don't help with fuel then it's GG anyway.
I've dropped when it's clear the ELO has dumped me on planet noobenstein. It's half an hour of my life I'm never getting back.
