Keeps its normal combat weaknesses of poor pen without AP rounds and 4-man crew, strengths of excellent vet 1 and best fire-rate by a bit, just reduces the redonk muni bleed the unit inflicts has to inflict just to be used past mid-game. It has 3 less DPS than 2 M1919A6s, but doesn't lose DPS at any range, doesn't go prone when standing still, and has a better moving cooldown by 0.25 and moving accuracy by 0.5. In: COH2 Gameplay

Due the higher rate of fire of the Mp44 however you can deal some damage to your opponents vehicle when he plays like a dumb ass, meaning that he drives the scout car close and exposes the rear armour and do this all while being over red cover, which increases the amount of bullets your scout car is hit by. Wait what, it does? Well, even if it negative cover affecting vehicles' defenses, I'm pretty sure small arms can't miss any vehicles already so it'd technically increase the damage caused by rounds that penetrate.
