This is going to sound strange but hear me out:
What if loiters provided a unit up in the unit card. They fly around like they do now, they have health like any other unit but the player needs to direct their attack in order to have them attack. They have a set range as defined by the loiter zone and since its a manual targeting (like strafes just more on demand while the plane is up) they can't track out of the zone.
Kinda like an airborne emplacement at the heart of it
Is that even possible?

Forget just MGs, manual reload would be great for everything. Would love to have it for the US AAHT's flak gun. That thing takes so long to reload |
I have put an m1919 on him when floating muni before. Since it's the weapon that puts him least at risk to use.
But mostly I just keep him near combat until he vets up. Vet 1 is the extra recon plane, vet 2 is the extra arty shells. Both of those are super handy |
If 20 MP is not that important, then why bother asking for such nerf? Leave as it is.
Because I want all MGs to have their price increased and performance improved. Except the 42. It's already really good, so just a price increase is needed.

Also when HMG42 are most usefull, mid to lategame to hold ground, they are "perfa nerfed" with +20MP with can result in +12-18% waiting time when your popcaps reaches +60. That is impactfull

I already have multiple times. It is easily the best MG in the game, and has no requirements. In no world should it be the same price as the maxim. Now instead of lecturing me on the differences between the armies that I'm already aware of, specifically explain exactly why 280mp is too much for the mg42. |
But did you forget why the maxim become literally the worst mg ingame? It got nerfed to oblivion, and clearly it was not taking care after that. Its a really bad comparison between an iconic and T0 unit for OST to a meganerfed standard MG of T1 SU.
MGs are already micro intensive to use, and also allied factions (all of them) have a good spotting unit, unless SU go T1, but if thats the case mortars could take care of the MG42, displace it or kill it. USF has pathfinders to begin with and mechanised has the cheap jeep, UKF can use UC and pyro IS. In any case the tools are there, if some players refuse to use them i would rather call for their mistakes.

And I'm talking about stock grens vs stock rifles. And riflemen easily beat grens at midrange. You don't even need to close in all the way to beat them unless the grens are using sandbags.
And you're talking about it why? You keep getting away from the mg42 and your excuse is that grens are weaker than rifleman, which are much more expensive both initially and with upgrades.
Well the MG your defending is the best in the game, it's in the HQ, and it's the same price as the worst MG in the game (maxim). And I'm not even saying nerf the 42 performance. Just make it more expensive than the worst MG in the game.... |
I provide the Tank Hunter tactics AT bombing run as an example. That's a directional air support ability that is very strong but requires good placement. Same for frag bomb.
Maybe it's harder to balance strafes with non-bombers, but it really just seems to be all about finding a sweet spot with the timing of planes attack. |
If you really want good suppression for SU,USF,UKF then steal an mg42, its not that hard for any allied faction.
Harder than stealing literally any of the allied mgs. Even the 6 man maxim. MGs should not really differ THIS much. And I'm asking for a 20mp increase
The Vickers for example, you say it's okay for it to be the sniper MG. That's pretty dumb in my book because the more models you kill the harder it is to suppress the squad. Like that could not make less sense. |
