Yes genius allied tanks are cheaper because allied tanks are not better. You need 2 minimum to take on a panther if for some reason you lack other at. No matter how you try and spin that its a fact that pound for pound the panther is a better tank hence it costs more.
Panther has better armour, hp, acc, pen then normal tanks. It has simaler rof, damage, moving acc, speed. It has heavy crush unlike allied mediums do. Only its target size and aoe on the main gun is worse.
So again how is it a worse tank then allied tanks? 2x t34,s cost more then a panther so why should they together not out preform a panther?
They are better because they are cheaper and are not inferior while having many useful abilities. Starting with ram and finishing with repair crews and many many other including different types of smoke extra speed, etc. Hard to enumerate even. Panther is just a silly overpriced hybrid of strange features which can work only when you are ahead of your opponent anyway. On similar skill matchup allied tanks give you much better results for what you pay. That is why I believe that the thread makes sense and panther should be somehow buffed. I would give it more anty infantry capabilities (making it a slightly better comet). |
Because emplacement play is a sure way to lose a game. They're utterly useless, and have only ever been effective against people who have no idea about the tools at their disposal. They've never been remotely cost-efficient, and giving them "extra mobility" by allowing a refund will not change the fact that balancing a faction around static emplacements is awful for everyone involved, both those playing the faction and those playing against it.
You can claim that rank but I honestly don't believe you, because in my whole career of both playing as and against the British in 1v1, never once has an emplacement been a remotely effective choice compared to any other unit on the roster. I'd rather keep it that way and look at other avenues of improving the faction rather than give a nominal benefit to the worst part of it.
Just check my stats

Emplacements are bad because they are static - if they could be moved and replaced with different units it would open up many new possibilities. Simple. The only thing that would require balance is the refund cost. 70% may be too generous. |
I doesnt miss any more then other mediums and premium mediums and heavies.
It does miss more then dedicated 60 range td,s or stugs. But those always stand still while shooting except the jackson ofcourse. Increasing acccuracy notably. A solution without changing stats would be stop to shoot. As intended.
The panther already has enough going for it as is. No changes needed other then use as intended.
I understand You haven't watched the championships. Allied tanks are cheaper and better. But You don't seem to see that. Panther is simply too expensive for what you get. Its cost should be similar to Jackson's or it should be buffed to make the game even. |
I'm so glad we have you, who doesn't play UKF, here to solve all the problems with the faction.
I play them. I'm around 150-200 1v1 with them.
I seriously think it is a very good solution. Simple and addresses a lot of problems. Add mutually non exclusive Bofors and aec and the faction is ready without core changes. Please state why my solution would be bad rather than suggest that I don't play them (which is simy false) You don't have to agree with me but al least give some arguments |
Didn't vote because I don't agree with any of the options.
1. The Panther's Vet 0 stationary accuracy is actually pretty good, and in-line with (iirc) every other TD, if you look at the stats.
2. The Panther doesn't get accuracy vet bonuses like other TDs, which again, is fine. The problem is that OTHER TDs DO.
3. The main issue is actually moving accuracy. The panther has the speed to chase, but it has pretty terrible moving accuracy that doesn't get better with vet. This means that the speed it has it somewhat useless, unlike the M36, which has much better moving accuracy.
4. Stop power-creeping TDs, especially 'problem' TDs like the Panther and M36, which are already insanely 'meta', especially in team-games. The moving accuracy penalty is a multiplier for the base accuracy values, so any increases to base accuracy will increase moving accuracy by 50% of that buff, too (unless this buff would disable when moving). A more accurate panther means better ability to chase, which means Allies would need better AT solutions, which means mediums become even more pointless.
TL;DR - Let's keep the Panther the same, or even nerf it. Then let's nerf the M36, the Su85, maybe even the JP4 and FF. When all that's done, we can finally have some good medium tank gameplay. It would be nice to play a 4v4 and see only a few panthers/M36s, rather than both sides fielding a dozen of them, all while the Ostwind, Sherman, Flame-Hetzer, and every other interesting medium gets erased in one 'barrage' from the blob of TDs.
A very reasonable post |
You shouldn't have a problem at 1440p with this specs. Just turn down AA (i have it on Low) and VSync off (the game does stutter when its on).
It's because of the bad optimization, COH2 is famous for that sadly
Even with wide aspect you think? That will be almost 4k. I'm a bit scared of other games with widescreen 1440. Or maybe I'm wrong? |
Just refund 70% resources for dismantling ukf structures. It will give them mobility and will not lead to mirroring other factions. |
No, it plays just fine, but I have a decent PC.
I5 8400
GTX 1070 TI
16 GB RAM 3200 Mhz
SSD
Mine is quite similar but older i7 3770/1070oc/16ram/ssd
I guess it should be similar |

I've been runnig the game on gtx1070 stock oc for like 2 years now. I feel 1440 screen would be optimal (especially thinking of other games). But now I got interested in Gunther's resolution as it looks cool. I know quite a lot about coh2 performance and read the threads You suggest (I played the game on gtx470/gtx660/gtx770 and was ok). I hope that on those higher resolutions I won't need antyaliasing. Those wider screens seem to be nice.
|
As others already said you won't see more because of the resolution. Only the ratio has an impact.
I had a 16:10 1080p monitor and I bought a 16:9 1440p monitor, with the first a could see more.
This is 1440p
Thanks. Confirms everything. How about playing with this res? Did you notice any performance drops or different mouse performance, etc?
