holy shit, no it's not.
the MG42 is a support weapon. personally, i don't care that it doesn't do any damage, i just want it to be able to reliably suppress units in it's arc instead of units in the middle half of the arc. there isn't any value in having a huge arc when the traverse is to slow for most of it.
as far as tactics go...
against riflemen who smoke, move it back. you can move it back and get it resetup before they get unsuppressed. if they smoke you multiple times you're going to need something else, either another MG42 or more gren squads to kill more riflemen before they get back up.
against conscripts, move it if they flank and shoot at the conscripts with something else. unless the enemy has more cons than you have grens you don't need MG42s against them anyway.
.50cal has a narrow arc and a very slow rate of fire. I find myself retreating this MG every time because its really easy to fight off. Now with the MG42, the gun has an excellent rate of fire, largest arc and not to mention a superb vet ability! You have to put a little effort into the MG42 when the Rifles are not being suppressed within the arc, just make sure to change the target to the unsuppressed squad. |

I agree that the heavy tanks needs to be limited to ONE as it was in vCoh, it would really enhance the game in terms of fun factor (through medium armor tactics). Also, Stugs would need to be on a dedicated TD level if we want to limit Osth Tiger to one. Lastly, Soviets will be the hardest hit for Call in reform, but Relic could def make IS2 and T34-85s a stock unit. OKW will be fine as they only have Command Panther, P4s and Jagd. I doubt Relic would be able to solve this issue tho, this would mean overhauling the entire game! |
OKW already has the best AT from early to late game and the best armor. I dont see why they deserve a OP infantry squad that shreds all soft targets with little effort. The Obers are MP only unit (all OTHER elite infantry requires ammo for upgrades) and the only viable way of killing this unit is sending tanks cause as of now, no MG or infantry can fight them on.
All those resource penalties OKW have are worthless, I can have a viable AT capability to last me until mid game no problem. OKW has such a huge advantage in MP that it really negates the "expensive" Obers and Falls. The Volks alone are cheap to reinforced, OKW lacks suppport weapons, so the only real cost is reinforcements of Obers and Falls (which I can easily afford). |
I think KV-8 needs a bit of a damage buff, it has a very difficult time killing blobs. |

I wouldn't say its OP as in OMFG relic u are awful this is game breaking, i think it slightly over preforms as the at nade changes which i think were great makes it impossible most of the time to catch an is2 which before if it over extended it would become trapped. However i do think it was also my fault for sticking with p4s as i should have gone panthers. ATM IMO it just a little to tanky to be able to damage the engine as it makes medium armor kinda usless vs it
Honestly, IS2s rapes panther, for some reason they are really easy to fight off. You shouldve build stugs, as you will have advantage in range and reload time. Keep the stugs backed away, keep kiting the IS2 and you shall obtain victory! |
