well, normal infant compare the comander infant, maybe the sovia infant is so powerfull even dont mention the axis normail infant
but i think it is a good idea,so the sovia can win 10:0 in the final match.

So we are comparing penals to JLI these days in order to once more arrive at the conclusion "hur dur axis better allies worse"
late game coh2.org is wild
Remind me when axis was not in a better spot than allies? Everyone who is honest and has experience says that it has always been a fighting a upward battle with allies vs axis.
Also yes, we CAN compare Penals to Axis elite infantry since oftentimes Penal MP bleed for 2-3+ squads is so horrendous that you can't even afford a squad of Guards to contest their own elites. You have to get a M3/Sniper even with the afromentioned higher maintenance cost of Penals to compete against Axis elites(grens included). |
The only reason penals are not popular is that 7-man conscripts are just way too cost-effective. I don't think there is room for a penal buff on the Soviets. Unless they come with 7-man conscript nerf together.
A single dropped weapon like a DP28/Bren/BAR is already pushing them into elite territory, the problem is that unlike let's say a early Pgren rush on a map like Ettelbruck, Penals don't force your opponent to play any different, they don't change how the game goes. They aren't impactful enough, and they don't retain their consistent perfomance they have when it's >5 minutes into the game or earlier.
Even with the additional manpower expenditure of building and reinforcing them, your matchups against Obers, Grens or Fusiliers don't really change unless we're talking about very specific circumstances. |
stats page is outdated, last patch made it so penals get 0.77 target size at vet 3 rather than 0.85.
They also have the passive vet 1 ability that buffs RA if they drop models. This whole thread is obsolete tbh
That still isn't good considering their price point, the fact that you have to build your entire playstyle around them, their long build-time hampering your map control early game, and their reinforce cost.To the Last Man's boost is also rather shit, it really doesn't make enough of a difference to justify it's own existence. |
Meanwhile Jaeger midget infantry:
Conscripts start off worse than Penals at VET0 with the worst target size in the game but still somehow get better at VET3 despite costing less to build and reinforce across the entire match
No wonder Penals drop like flies past 15min lol, half of the Axis infantry spawn with better target size:
Vet 0/VET 3/5
Grens:0.91; 0.91
Obers:0.7; 0.5
Fallschirm:0.83; 0.59
Sturmpio:0.87; 0.67
Sturmoffizier: 0.8; 0.64
Volks: 1.0; 0.77
Fusilier 1.0; 0.77
Pgren: 0.8; 0.57
Stormtroopers: 0.75; 0.53 |
I consider FFs to be the best TDs in the game. The bonus psychological aspect of 240 dmg per shot on vet3 FF is sometimes greater than the fact it becomes 3shot medium.
Jacksons are great in lower modes where it's easier to use their speed. Most 3v3s and 4v4s, TD play is mostly "Park the TD and let it rip". Something that FF is best at.
Soviets are also great at parking the TD. Heck, it's designed to be parked.
FFs are best at killing heavies+
Jacksons are better for mediums generally but with the AP ammo they can take on heavies. Still, tulips stun is better with the 200-240 dmg.
I guess the SU85 is great with veterancy for all, but is casemate. Focused sight though
IMO, FF is the best because you can deal that much more damage in a single burst of DMG, especially with Mark Target. The massive alpha damage on its own can deter a pushing tank, or outright kill it where the other three allied TDs would leave it at a sliver of health.
Besides, your AT won't just come from the slow-firing FFs, you'll probably have atleast ATG to back them up which will cover the slow fire rate of the FF. |
fixed
Your humour is as fresh as stale, rotting eggs. |
There were many super busted things, especially when something new was released. I can remember when snares would always give an engine crit regardless of the target's health (so you could never really push with tanks lol). Then they introduced these broken commanders, elite (which gave you the ability to make your Gren squad or mortar squad vet 3 with one click, or just boost your Pwerfer straight into vet 2 without having shot once; ah yes, and the Tiger Ace of course hehe). You also had Soviet Windustry, where your T70 would come at such a ridiculous timing (4 mins iirc), if you didn't get it with a lucky teller, the game was over lol.
As for the most busted unit in the history of CoH2? Well, that is debatable I guess. The old ISU that didn't need to switch ammunition and had self-spotting was probably the most busted thing we ever saw. Honorable mentions would be the old JT that would shoot through buildings (the only real counter to the ISU lol), basically everything when OKW or Brits came out (Volk schreck blobs, Obers with insta-lmg, Sections that were just as good without cover but unbeatable with cover, unkillable Churchills, unbeatable Comets, etc.). Sturmtiger in the last patch was also insanely busted and right now, it's probably the KT with spearhead and tank commander.
JT and Breakthrough-doctrine is still arguably busted to this very day. |
Dear alliedcucks,
remember this post when you come across Jagdpanther-KT-Ele spam in fuels/stars.
Assuming they won't have double ATG/2 jagdpanzer or panther alongside the heavy TD |
The same reason the 76 Sherman has normal AP rounds and HVAP arounds.
German Heat rounds had much higher velocity than standard AP rounds. This meant that Heat rounds not only had greater range than standard AP rounds but could penetrate armor from longer distances.
Having HEAT rounds function like the 76 Sherman would be better than the current implementation.
HEAT was low-velocity in almost all of it's iterations in the war because it didn't rely on kinetic energy to penetrate armor but rather chemical energy, for which caliber was the most important. The velocity of a HEAT projectile doesn't affect it's armor-piercing capability because it's the molten jet that penetrates the armor, not the actual shell that hits the armor. |
