Yes aimtime is all they need, so the timewindow an unsupported tank has until it can drive out of the arc again is shorter and fast vehicles get shot at all and can not more or less drive through the whole arc of fire without the stupid thinkg beeing ready to fire. You cant buff it on all levels to other pak standards because it can retreat.
I leave Schreckblobmeta to antoher dedicated thread...
The propblem is yellow cover created by explosions of all types which work against the mgs. It makes them completly useless in the late midgame in contested areas. No spotter can save you when squats getting close dont get supressed before the mg is half dead.
When you talk about a group of units, say 3 rifles with bars, it still applies. Very fragile unit contributing nothing dead first, 2 other untis left which could not deal 240mp damage/forceretreat against the atackers.
The reason i would be hyped would be because its the best marketing for a multiplayer game. And coh2 has the potential to dig into this, and is close.
As a result the game i enjoy for whatever reasons would see more support of higher qualtiy then when it wouldnt get that attention.
The reason u dont want to watch 4th class soccer is because the game isnt balanced. The players keep having gamebreaking bugs, mitfielder got drunk the night before and that decides the game because he has serious pathing issues. To much rng, cause they just cant reliably shoot in one direction.
Coh2 is better then that, but its still second league soccer, and not many people watch that, cause there is still the real deal.
The Problem is in my opinion with cover created over the course of the game by the various explosions. Making especially contested areas to zones where the supression platforms cant perform their duty. combined with vetted squats they just dont do shit anymore like they should.
So fixing the problem has to have something to do with yellow cover and how suppression is delivered. You should be able to shodown with an a mg if your squat is in green cover. You should not be allowed to walk unsupressed over fields of craters into grenade range when not supressed, downing the gunner on the way.
This. The thing that got my attention was Greg saying: CoH2 is accessible for most players in ways of understanding what is happening". I have never thought about this. He is right, when you observe a MOBA game you have to first master the game to understand what the hell is happening. But as he said, when you see a tank attacking infantry you can understand what is going on and who is gonna win.
They have to use this to their advantage, start big competitions with reasonable prize pool and keep this game alive. Making the game F2P in a year or so, despite having a lot of challenges, would be a good move IMO. I remember they once said that they have a five year plan for CoH2.
RTS games are challenging and hard to master compared to games like LoL and they become boring for many players. But blizzard could keep SC franchise alive and going. I know we can't compare Relic with blizzard and CoH2 with SC2, but they can learn from them (I'm sure they do study other companies' policies).
I tend to argue, that coh2 could be far more entertaining then SC2 to look at. Because of what you stated and the flow of the game on high level play. But it would be is really hard to cast to its max potential level. Great undertanding of meta strats, reading the players choices and what they want to achieve with them. Incorporating the different little battles deciding points for many minutes while shit is going on on several places all over the map. Maybe even cinematic sequences, when big pushes are going to happen.
“There are lots of big plan for the franchise in 2015 and beyond, and we’re excited to head in the direction that the fans are asking us to go in.”
“There’s an ongoing relationship we’ve established with the ESL, and we’ll be working - this year - to create a tournament,” Wilson tells me. “Look for big things from Company of Heroes 2 and ESL partnership in 2015.
“Tying that back into some of the features we’ve released, we specifically released our observer mode to help support things like tournaments and casting, and sort of empower our community,” he continues. “We’ve got this really passionate community that have even taken the time to create their own tournaments. They’ve generated their own prize money, sometimes. So it’s really just about trying to give that community an opportunity to express themselves, and also to share with the world the great game they’ve helped to build.”
