Petition to change to more armor less health? I feel like Comet will be less attractive to get, but I think hammer would still get picked a lot mor than anvil because Churchill is just a slow, fat vet feeder.
After the incoming octuple nerf to the Comet, you might see this more anyway. It's just a meatshield for Firefly's and Jacksons. Going more armor and less health would mean that it couldn't even do the job as a meatshield.
A vet 3 Churchill is pretty good. Lowering the vet requirements would be a pretty good buff without too much risk of unbalancing anything. |
Interesting... and informative, +1.
Incoming Tiger OTM accuracy buff?
Except that the Sherman did have a working single axis gyro. It wasn't tied into turret rotation so it helped some but not as much as modern gyro would have. A lot of the crews didn't know how to use it so they probably should've had the same poor moving accuracy that other tanks had. One of the vet abilities could've been reading the instruction manual...... |
SU wasnerfed properly. Penals, maxims, t70 needed that adjustment. But its time to buff other stuff, and cons should be the first to start with.
If Soviets were nerfed properly, they would not have went from OP to UP. Cons should have been buffed at the same time. Why do soviet players have to pay 400 mp and 30 fuel for a decent snare and one of the worst grenades in the game, especially when Ost and OKW get better ones for free.
Relic created this mess when they made different numbers of tiers for factions, made some tiers optional but not others, gave free tech to Axis, free squads to USF, etc, etc.

Meanwhile Soviets won 6 matches out of what?23? yea,sure..."fiiiine"
It is 5 out of 25, as of the last update. Is VonIvan playing under a different name or Dangerous-Cloth having difficulties with facts? |
Thank you so much, it seems that most people cant read statistics properly. Actually the statistic that we are presented with tells nothing about balance, but merely which factions are most played. This might be connected to balance issues, but the correlation cannot be proven with those charts, its mere speculation.
It's a foggy window into balance, at best. The number of games played is always exactly equal (since automatch is always axis versus allies) but the comparison of even top 250 is muddied since there are three factions on one side and two on the other. Add into that the fact that many players play most of the factions and appear in the top 250 on all five lists and it makes comparisons impossible.
The GCS is interesting because it paired players on the same map. Almost all of the matchups featured each player in the pair playing one axis game and one allied game. The results of that make it look like there is a balance problem, but one of the problems there was that they included Crossing in the Woods, which has a lower overall win rate for allies than the general average. |
Will be interesting to ser hon them fare post group stages. Haven't watched any placement games but in the streams featuring Soviets I've watched they've looked pretty solid.
Most of the streams are top 10 players versus whoever they get in an automatch. The skill difference is usually enough that the faction doesn't matter. In the GCS, where they play mirror matchs for placement, there are still some mismatches but most of the time the skill difference isn't as great and Ost or OKW wins both.
After the placement matches, I'd expect that top seeds win with Soviets through the first couple rounds so the Soviet win rate would go up. After that, I'm not sure. If I was going to make a prediction, I'd bet it ends up at around 30%, assuming that top players keep using it. I'd also bet that most of the players switch to playing USF and the win rate ends up around 50%, with USF underperforming against OST and roughly equal against OKW.

Looking at the results of the GCS placement matches, RIP Soviets with or without maxim. The only wins by people playing Soviets were ones where the same player won both matches, meaning that the skill difference was great enough that the faction didn't matter. In all the matches where each player won one game, the Soviets always lost.
Realistically, maxim spam wasn't fun even when you're the one doing it. I'm fine with the nerf but they should have made Cons better and possibly not nerfed Guards. They probably did have to take the flamer away from Penals because it made some maps unplayable against Soviets. I quit playing OKW for awhile because of the flamer Penal blobs (Penals to Guards to T70, yeah fun). |
ofc let's just forget about the same feature on german tanks lol
Or the superior suspension
Panthers had hideously complicated suspensions. If you really wanted this to be a simulation instead of an arcade, your Panther would randomly get stuck or not start due to problems with the road wheels, and the suspension wear out in 150km. You'd have to get out and watch helplessly at the POS Sherman with the 75mm smooth bore gun drives past you on its way to Mainz. Give credit to Daimler-Benz for creating the only vehicle ever to be less reliable than a Chrysler (Fiats don't count as vehicles for obvious reasons). |
It wouldn't make sense for Relic to develop anything. Their revenue stream from this game is probably close to nothing, and they aren't a charity.
It'd be great if they sponsor a 1v1 tournament occasionally, and use the results for their balance feedback. |

AA = Attack ground
The pack howie should get a lesser AA or equal to mortars cause it has an insane barrage (vet2), great normal barrage and good AoE for rof.
What the pack howie needs improvements is on the barrage deparment, not the AA.
Doesn't AA stand for auto attack? Is that always the same range as attack ground?
For some reason, I can't load any of the GCS replays (even with the -allowincompatibleReplays). Are there any where a USF player got good use from a pack howie? It's always possible that they suck when I use them only because it is I that is using them. |
