Another idea, if early anti-light vehicle AT is called for: Daimler I armoured car, instead of the AEC III.
It'd be cheaper than the Puma, but it's 2 pounder is totally capable of penetrating every other light vehicle and light tank out there. Also would have a higher rate of fire, so not that bad against troops. Give it a Little John adapter as a munitions upgrade, and it can achieve the same penetration as the Puma but at the cost of losing it's AI capability (they never made an HE shell for the adapter).
That would be cool. The AC two pounder could be like Puma in vCOH, either keep the stock main gun for AI but very little anti vehicle ability or spend munitions to give it anti vehicle role. |
To clarify if I use the assault Gren +3% accuracy bonus it will then grant that accuracy to both grenadier and assault grenadier infantry? |
Incidentally, I believe reload bulletins have more of an effect than cooldown bulletins due to reload times are usually greater than cooldown for most weapons.
It's the difference of a few percentage points off a 3 second reload versus off a 1 second cooldown.
A small difference, but if you're min/maxing the spreadsheet it can be meaningful.
True but for Kar98 for instance the shooter has to cool down 4x for every 1 reload since it's a 5 round magazine. So even a 3% reduction of say 1 second per cool down x4 cool downs is better than a 5% reduction per reload x1 reload. Or am I seeing this incorrectly? |
just give the AEC 50 range with price to match. Right now it's basically a puma with clipped range.
It shouldn't be a carbon copy of the Puma though. Units and factions lose their flavor if they just become the exact same as another army's unit. Puma (at least for Ost) is doctrinal only so it should be a little better or cheaper for similar performance. |
Aimstong sniper was at maximal range AND on retreat and DevM axis sniper still managed to kill him. Only british sniper has like 100% chance of killing retreating troops if there is no terrain block, while Ost sniper has quite low chances of killing retreating squads\units.
that was incredibly surprising to see... didn't know Brit sniper had diffrent odds of killing retreating soldiers. In vCOH i believe it was 50% for both snipers to hit retreating units unless the targets were vet 2+ grens i think due to armor change.
I wish there had been less sniper play since it is so risk/reward and often leads to game being over very soon becuase of a player losing a sniper and getting pushed off completely or getting squads wiped when a sniper picks of last member a few times. If a sniper makes it all teh way to the late game the odds of that player winning are very high just due to MP drain. At least sniper mechanics are better than they were in vCOH with its cloaking anywhere BS. |
+1 to VonIvan for somehow making the most sense in this thread despite using 9 separate Nicholas Cage gifs.
LOL. Finally all those GIFs have a use. |

Is it me or someone have opened the Chamber of Noobs recently, letting them all out on forums?
Recent week feels like official forums quality member crusade goes here to spit nonsense because they can't play and they insist that its all balance issues despite the fact that if you put their ladder rank number into your phone, you'll be able to order a pizza delivery.
It is a good and bad sign...good becuase I think OCF encouraged lots of new people to come onto forums which will hopefully bring a bigger player base. Bad because we are inundated with lots of ill thought out posts. |

Please watch an Ostheer opponent handle early Centaur as well as one could possibly expect (a little luck happened as Aimstrong was a little careless too) with the exception of not getting a Stug G and instead getting double Stug E. First Centaur made such an impact that even though it was killed in 1 min of hitting front line and brit sniper was counter sniped, the battle still swung in UKF's favor and they never looked back even after losing 2 more Centaurs with Ostheer losing no tanks for most the game.
Don't nerf Centaur into the ground, but wow is it insane right now. Give UKF a buff somewhere else to compensate if need be. |
Concerning the regular Churchill,
I really don't see what the huge fuss is about. The majority of its cost is basically for an armoured shell with a peashooter on top. Plus attacking it feeds your units some crazy vet, which is something a lot of people conveniently forget to mention. And a Churchill with an engine crit is a dead Churchill 90% of the time as well. It's just a damage sponge, nothing more.
The Croc, well, I'm not entirely sure what to think about how it could be better balanced. I guess a reduction to 1280 HPs could balance it a bit better?
they need to stay a meat shield and i wouldn't nerf the churchill main guns at all but the croc needs a little reduction in damage because it fires so far and wipes AT guns in no time at all that AT guns aren't even a soft counter, they are no counter at all. |
