Edit: Though I remember that there was already an option that the Panther is underperforming. So the developers are aware of the issue. It´s just that everybody voted for the screwed up infantry combat. As in: "I want to get rid of my Herpes but Aids is a bigger issue." Doesn´t mean Herpes is fine. In: COH2 Balance

I guess there is nothing planned about the Panther. -.- I noticed that too. They are usually super involved in the discussion and pointing out things. Here they are remarkably absent. Probably because they don´t intend to fix the Panther. That´s the problem with letting a few people patch the game. Only what they deem to be a problem is going to be fixed. In: COH2 Balance

Killing one infantry model per shot for such an expensive tank when there is no tanks around isn't anywhere game breaking. I was thinking about a ragne increase too. But imo that would make Jacksons, Fireflies and SU-85s useless since they rely on outranging the Panther. What´s definitely needed is either a rate of fire increase or more damage since the Panther does less damage than a Panzer IV. In: COH2 Balance

WW2 era stabilizers only were effective at keeping the gun pointing in the general direction of the target while on the move. T-34 didn't even have a stabilizer. So firing on the move should be basically a sure miss, unless you're targeting a house from point blank range. That's off my chest now. Flawed argument. Panthers didn´t need to shoot on the move back then since they could engage at the longest ranges. A Su-85, Firefly etc. wouldn´t outrange the Panther in the first place that it would have to close in like it has to do ingame. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Ostheer Panther15 Feb 2017, 18:04 PM Don´t build the Panther as Ostheer. It can´t do anything the Panzer IV and StuG can´t do more cost efficiently. You get lower dps than on a Panzer IV for more penetration that is not needed versus anything but the rare sight of an IS-2. And even then StuGs with their turbo reload make any Panther obsolete. This is not because German Tier 3 vehicles are overpowered but the Ostheer Panther being absolute shit. The OKW one can at least fight infantry properly with better MG accuracy. Thus the Ostheer Panther needs either a fix or the OKW Panther stats at the very least. It comes out later after all. In: COH2 Gameplay

VI - Tiger13 Feb 2017, 21:14 PM The Tiger suffers somewhat from the fact that they deleted all the survivability buffs from vet a long time ago and instead gave it + 5 gun range with vet (10 if we ignore the +5 range the Tiger got on its stock value). While the IS-2 doesn´t suffer as much from it (it lacks in the offensive department) because it has King Tiger armor, you notice on the Tiger. I think a vet rework for Tiger and IS-2 would be sufficient. Give the Tiger + x% armor with Vet2 and cut off some offensive capabilities that come with vet. In: COH2 Balance

Aren't the OKW panzer IV and Panther 'better' since they get accuracy bonuses with veterancy? The OKW Panther has slightly better reload than the Ostheer Panther on the maingun. The accuracy on the move is better for OKW and the accuracy of the MGs is also better on the OKW Panther (talking about vet0). Ostheer was once designed to have a good lategame and the Ostheer Panther comes out way later than the OKW one. That´s why some people suggest for a long time that the Ostheer Panther should be replaced by the OKW variant. There is simply no logical reason to give Ostheer a crippled version of the Panther except "Ostheer mustn´t have nice things". And before someone mentions it: The increased fuel cost for OKW was introduced to compensate the ressource float after the economy changes. In: COH2 Gameplay
