People have a right to be angry. We waited through like months and months of imbalance with flamer riflemen, howitzers that cause suppression, and all this other nonsense that actually made rifle company banned in OCF.
And finally they get the patch out and the game balance is good for once in a long while and only one month later, the balance is even worse than it was before.
If they had actually playtested, it would've been obvious that the AEC change was way too much but instead they went ahead with their nonsense like they always do and who knows how many more months until they patch the game.
The AEC is more powerful than the stuart or t70 and comes out as fast as a 222. It's is unbelivably OP. |
Smoke is one of the best abilities in the game. It's interactive and rewards more interaction and attacking. As a defensive ability, it doesn't actually cause one-shot squad wipes which makes it way lower than all the bullsh*t in this game that does wipe squads in one shot that you can't respond too. |
Like everything Relic does, they released a patch without any playtesting at all and instead of creating fun interactive gameplay such as making the AEC weaker against vehicles while buffing anti-infrantry or making it less splash while upping damage against infrantry, they make it an insta-wipe machine of death.
The AEC is literally the same vehicle as the T17 when Tales of Valor was released. An overpowered infrantry-squad wiper that made the game unplayable for months.
Relic idea of balance is to create less interactive mechanics and have more RNG to hide how awful they are at their job.

Do they even playtest their patches at all? Combined with the terrible code, they broke balance AGAIN and they did it in a way that most educated players from the community could see coming.
Sorry, but it's the f*cking last straw. This sh*t game deserves to flat out die. |
The only way it could be worse is if it blue-screened every game. Seriously, why does input lag go from 100-200ms to 500ms+ IN THE SAME GAME. Why is the engine full of microstutter that it misses player inputs? Why do units sticky to "cover" positions literally several model units away from where a player clicks? Why is the pathfinding so god-awful that units when being multitasked to perform flanks constantly weave back and forth?
And no, my computer is not bad. I have a devil's canyon overclocked to 4.9ghz, a 980 TI, and a 144hz gsync monitor. No other pc game out there gives me any performance issues whatsoever.
Every time I come back to the game thinking maybe they fixed things, it's just the same stupid bullsh*t. |
This game microfreezes a lot because of poor optimization. All you can do is restart after every match and even within the game you will get constant microfreezes.
Just don't support anymore of the dlc and hope they start over with a sequel.

There is absolutely no reason to upgrade your computer for this game. It is one of the worst-coded games out there and full of severe bugs. I upgraded once already and COH2 was one of the reasons why. It made no difference and if you read the boards, you will see the same.
It is a terribly optimized game. |
Of course the community will be toxic. The game is simply bad and anyone with a brain will leave it. It is full of serious performance issues and poor design decisions: mainly being that so much is deterimined by RNG.
And there is also a common map hack out too that I'm pretty sure Relic does nothing about and its use is on the rise. |
The main change I think is necessary is just making it easier to micro. Whether it's size is too big or it's the weird acceleration/deceleration of the car or the weird pathfinding that often has the 222 spin in circles, I don't know; just fix it.
222 can easily become OP with other changes because if you are skillful with it, you can definitely force a squad wipe with it which is very powerful for a vehicle that only costs 180 MP and 20 fuel.
I'm ok with it being weaker than other vehicles, but I should be able to rewarded for microing it well and keeping it alive. As it is, I just try to get a squad wipe and play super conservative because the pathfinding is absolutely atrocious and unpredictable.
But then again, I think the biggest fix to the entire game is to just make units more responsive and decrease all the pointless code they have in the game for stuff like "sticky" movement to "cover" or slow unit response times that prevents micro and promotes blobbing strats.
222 is a microcosm of that big problem in the underlying engine and code. |
Relic actually continues to shit on players even when they say they'll do something. They finally "removed" deep snow after 3 years and yet there's still a shit ton of it surrounding all buildings on snow maps and on random places.
Input lag "reduced" when there's still built-in input lag from squads following their "unit leader" and also just from the huge memory leaks in the game. |
