I'm sorry, are you suggesting that mobile reinforcement points are, somehow, not good?
Have you played CoH2 since 2013?
No. No it doesn't. It really, really doesn't. Brummbars murder infantry. Centaurs murder infantry. The comet is nothing but a vastly overpriced cromwell.
Yes and CoH1 since release. Halftrack are decent for mobile reinforcements but not worth the fuel because it will not give you the same map control as a light vehicle will (which your opponent will get) so you will still get left behind. Also if you ever lose the front line your half track is most likely taken out by your opponent light vehicle and thats why people don't use half track and if they do they go flamer HT because that will actually get you map control for a while.
Comets dont need to have the same AI as brummbär because ostheer is 4 man squads. Comets bounce shots from short range even from panthers, how is that a overpriced cromwell? |
Have you tried not to face mash that upgrade button on 251 and actually use it to reinforce in combat?
You are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to find an argument these days. Start playing the game and maybe people will care.
ib4 "ost have good tanks" is really bullshit argument these days. Allied tanks have been buffed throughout the years and now they are on equal footing with axis armor. I would take a comet over a panther any day, yes slightly weaker AT but it murders infantry. Panther needs a mg upgrade... not that its good vs infantry but so atleast they can't stand next to it afk. |
And.... why 240mp squad with 60 muni upgrade should NOT lose badly to 280 mp squad with 120 muni upgrade?
It would be imbalanced if they were even remotely equal.
Light machineguns or heavy machineguns?
I'll assume the latter, because ost never was supposed to operate on grens alone.
If you'd played UKF you'd be ranked even higher at the same skill level.
Its easier to have higher rank with less populated factions.
And yes, if your opponent is terribly bad and doesn't use anything but grens, he will have a hard time.
As i said i don't take seriously what someone who doesn't play the game has to say.
Secondly 5 man grenadier squad is 270 manpower also where do i sign up for 280 mp grenadier squad that actually can stand up to a rifleman because i gladly pay that. |
Thing is ostheer lategame is not even good. It's true they have decent lategame tanks but their infantry loses even harder late game. Even a 5 man vet 3 grenadier squad with g43 loses so hard against vet 3 riflemen with weapons upgrades its not even funny. Without machine guns ostheer has no way to hold the line and by lategame your opponent has so much support weapons that can melt 4 man machine guns which will open the floodgates of allied terminator infantry.
Im higher ranked as USF 1v1 than ostheer even though i have played 10x more games as ostheer, don't even know of a single build order as USF. I just overwhelm the poor germans with riflemen and they leave at mid game and if they play ostheer its even sadder. |
I strongly beg to differ with regards to the Tiger. It regularly takes Penals and Guard squads down to a couple of men with 1 shot
No it doesn't. I have almost 2000 games under my belt as Ostheer and i know that about 40% of its shots (when stationary) misses. 40% of its shots kills 1-2 models and 20% of its shots are good killing 3-4 models. Compare to IS2 when stationary i would say 60% of its shots will tear infantry a new asshole.
And that is the problem why people say IS2 sucks. The majority of the playerbase doesn't seem to understand that tanks have huge accuracy penalties when moving and they drive around the IS2 and it never hits. Just have it stationary and watch it melt all infantry. |
Most of the heavy tanks work like this. If they hit, they tend to wipe things.
Playing against a heavy, that's super frustrating: heavy appears out of the FoW and boom your full health squad gets one-shot.
Playing with the heavy is just as frustrating, because those heavy guns are super inaccurate. Most of the time they're going to hit nothing. Whether your heavy is useless or annihilates your opponent in a few minutes is entirely at the whims of the dice.
The solution used for the Brummbar is the best option for heavies: make them deal fairly even damage across their whole AoE. That way, a heavy will consistently take squads down to low health, but it won't randomly wipe full health squads.
Except Ost Heavy. Tiger usually misses infantry but if it hits it kills at most 2 models which 5-6 man allied squads don't care about. It's time to buff the Tiger AI and no it's machine gun is not enough. Machine guns don't have high alpha damage which you want in your heavies. Besides IS2 also get a machine gun. |
Yes, exactly, because you actually can carry someone in 2s to that rank when you're just slightly above his level.
Get a grip on reality.
It's not hard, all you need is one good player and the scrub can sit back and spam support weapons and soviet heavy mortars. You probably quit when the pinpoint veterancy ability on the soviet heavy mortar was cut out like the cancer it was. |
Tightrope all the way, that guy has some serious teaching talent. |
Just the way it has to be, if Germans were a good balanced faction everyone would want to play them like in vanilla coh2. Only way to not have axis be 90% of the game search volume is to make them shit. |
I was ranked 47 in axis and 64 in allies in 2s, when my 2v2 mate was still alive, but suit yourself.
Aka carried. |
