Up the cost of Maxim to 300mp, increase building time. Reduce t2 building time and Mp cost a bit to leave the 1st maximum out around the same time.

Osttruppen are amazing against brits. Their few, expensive squads contrasting your many cheap squads lets you take so much of the map control and keep up the harassment. Then you get a sniper and eat them alive. Do you have a early BO for that. Want to try it. |

I'm not even sure smoke would do the trick. The problem isn't on the OKW side, but the Maxim spam efficiency in general. What would do making the maxim a bit better (maybe keep its stat but enlarge the cone of fire), but costing something like 300+mp. So Soviet cannot really afford to build more than 1 early game. I would also increase the unsetup time so whem the HMG is flanked it takes more time to react. In: COH2 Balance |

Ostheer infantry scale better with a 251 nearby. The problem is its fuel cost and being super weak vs small arm fire. The 251 should be the backbone of Ostheer infantry so they can stay on the field longer. If we could somehow remove the flamer upgrade and improve the 251 resiliency vs small arm fire and light tank, the balance would probably be restored without having to nerf or buff that much any infantry units. Vs infantry = increase its armor value. Vs LT = give 251 a native smoke so it has more chances to escape. In: COH2 Balance |

In another topic i had a discussion with Mr. Smith, the bugsmasher from WBP team (gj on that!), about late-game strength of factions. If your answer is no, then you should agree on having powerful early game factions winning 90% of their games early on as Late game factions won 90% of games reaching this stage. Now how much games represent having 90% chance to win your game over the 10% of games you'll be able to survive till the late game is a mystery to me. But what I'm sure is we can have perfect balanced factions with that, with a perfect symmetry in power spikes (early vs late) but this is not going to be balanced in a game wise perspective. If your opinion is to give every faction a fair chance to reach late game stage, then you should ensure every faction has the same fair chance to win the late game. If so, we can have some factions doing better on the early stage of the game and some others doing better on the middle stage of the game and all of them having a power convergence on the late game. I obviously want more balance between factions on the late game. Units like Havre/KT/Comets/SPanther/STiger/Elefant are aberrations in this game in the way they are implemented. Only the Elefant isn't offending today due to Ostheer being so weak at all the stages of the game. I'm also not including the ISU/IS2/Tiger as they are balanced in my opinion and this is why we almost never see them in teamgames. Balance is a mix of symmetry and strength and weakness on units and factions level. Today we are seeing that the counterpart of those units aren't enough strong. What they are: Popcap, mp and fuel. They aren't enough because you can have a well balanced army and picking those unit as the cherry on top of the cake. Those units aren't balanced at all and the power they bring should have biggest downsides. As an idea on how we could bring more balance in those units is looking at the Tiger Ace. Not going to the economy creeping level of the TA, those units should have a biggest impact on your economy, not only in popcap and the upkeep naturally going with, but a special upkeep fees in mp/fuel to maintain those units on the field, with a possibility to withdraw them and get back some of your mp/fuel investment. Is it viable to use Rifles as basically fodder with no muni invested, then go LT+CAP while using all the light vehicles plus .50 cal and mortar? Weaknesses: On some maps vs Oshteer G43 spam. Probably as well vs Ostruppen spam where you're not going to take the edge vs the swarm. Late game vs any kind of upgraded infantry. If you opponent went 2xmortars to counter your support weapons. In a vacuum, any time you'll face someone equal/better than you, you'll probably lose cuz using support weapons doesn't mean not using BARs, you need to use them both. On the other hand, this strat works vs an aggressive OKW truck emplacement with the reco commander and its pathfinders. The amo you save is easily used for early arty calls. But I wouldn't build too much LVs, you need to rush your first sherman to put an end to the game as fast as possible. |
