It is objectively time consuming to tech up as this faction. What is the advantage then, that i do not see? 1- Free upgrades with teching, you don't pay for lmg, panzerfaust and grenades. 2- Specialized units accessible to cover any particular situation. You have an easy access to Anti Infantry, Anti tank, light artillery, rocket artillery, medium tanks and medium tank destroyer, medium+ tanks (panther and Brumbar). The only gap in Ostheer roster is a lack of light tank but since a year ago and allied light vehicule nerf, it is not anymore an issue. Ostheer Commanders are more about how you want to complete your army than what gap do I want to fill and what gap I will not. About Battle phases, with experience you'll remember costs and know when you can upgrade them. If you are new it is normal to have some issue with at the beginning. In: Ostheer Strategies

If your enemy has 9 CP and you no AT (even tho you can not get M1 AT due LT you still can get Zooks) then you did somthing wrong .And even if your enemy did not build T3 (it is T3 where the Pz4s come from)then he still spent 40 Fuel on T2 + 10 Fuel for T1 + 20 Fuel on T2 building + 125 fuel for the Command tank. This summs up to 195 fuel (assuming that he build no Sdkfz 222/251). With 195 fuel you can get your LT + Major and still have more than enough fuel left for Zooks upgrade Lol do you really expect doing something with Zook vs a Pz4 command tank? USF is still designed to snowball or die while it has been taken away anything early game that make it snowball. In: COH2 Balance

Ppsh cons is 3 cp indeed, but if you're starting with 4 cons to later transition into ppsh, your early game is not weak. But please, tell me how sov early game is weak, since that is the premises you seem to be defending. Not sure if taking DevM into your argument is the best. DevM was also one of the few players able to beat anyone with Oshteer (using sniper) when the faction was the weakest one some years ago. Armor have little meaning if we don't know who's firing at it with which penetration value. Or do you think a M1 has much more chance to pen a frontal Panther than a pak a frontal Churchill. Thread: 1v1 non penal builds?23 May 2018, 12:32 PM Since last patch, I try to improve my Soviet play. I tried maxim but they are horrible at suppressing anything and you get quickly overwhelmed I tried early Sniper, fun to play but same problem, you get quickly overwhelmed and I don't really feel that I'm bleeding my opponent. So I came back to Cons spam, 5 Cons early game. 2xCons / Molotov / 3xCons and I have good success with. Around mid game, when I build my T3, I merge two Cons squads into one. I use my cons squads in duo so I can flank and molotov. If I need a HMG, I have LendLease on my commander roster, If I don't I usually pick Warface doctrine so i get access to PPSH/Repair and T34-85.
