I don't like 1v1 for all this "capping" thing. It feels like you are playing tag, not fighting in a war. 4v4 is more deadly, when you're flanking with all your force applied to one overextended enemy group. It is more dense when you quickly switch flanks and crush opponents in 2v3 battle. It is more diverse in terms of commander/tech choice (although, it may be so because of amplitude of matchmaking). Also I should say that you encounter blobbing and spamfest even in 1v1 (just watch any cpt.SPrice game ) Experienced player will counter your spam easily will be it 1v1 or 4v4. In: COH2 Gameplay

It means that I don't have to worry about AI vehicles any time soon and deal with those pesky StuGs later using SU-85, which just outrange them. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: 4v4 can't be balanced, they said10 Nov 2015, 13:22 PM Jump back to quoted post10 Nov 2015, 09:41 AMBananenheld i just thought about your "way those gamemode works" thing. one thing i absolutly hate is how static they are. for example you got 17 cap points (including vps) on angoville, with a 50/50 distribution means you need to cap 8 points. most 4v4 maps got roughly the same amount of caps or even less which means per player you need to only cap 2 points. there is no strategy diverstiy in which way you cap and evreything is pretty static which encourages arty spamfests. 1v1 and 2v2 are just way more "mobile" and flexible how the maps are played To me it seems like you're trying to describe your impressions (or just theorycraft) about something you have never experienced by yourself. Grab a friend or two and try it a few times. I'm sure you'll change your mind. In: COH2 Gameplay

I don't know what is the reason, but my Soviet sniper team squads hit models inside of buildings with 100% accuracy. I've started to notice that approx since Soviet tech overhaul. It wasn't like that before - they indeed had tendency to miss about 50% times. A bug? In: COH2 Balance

Right now, the game is a mess. 4v4 is the most played mode, but 1s (and sometime 2s) are considered "e-sports" material ( ). Most 4v4 roflstomp heroes also don't play 1s and 2s, and vice versa. Besides, the only changes could be unit price and timing, and that's it, you don't have to memorize so many numbers and stats. I don't play 3s and 4s, but I think simply changing price on some units would be a big step towards balance. Anyway, they've stated that they don't have any plans regarding different game modes so arguing it is pointless. I'd say - most of 1v1 and 2v2 roflstomp heroes don't play 4v4. Yeah. In: COH2 Gameplay

I don't understand, why they don't just design different game modes for 3s and 4s? It would be a lot easier to balance without affecting 1s and 2s. Different income, unit pricing or even unit performance. More variables to balance for devs and numbers to remember for players. Design anti-pattern IMO. In: COH2 Gameplay
