It's more than once that I've seen this on forums somewhere, but I cannot for the life of me understand why Europeans continue to call AI "IA".
Why are Europeans like this? Why? *I* am an intelligent adversary, *you* are an intelligent adversary, a goddamn cat can be an intelligent adversary if you're playing with it with a string. It's a f!@#$ing Artificial Intelligence. A robot. Not real. Artificial.
I come across Intelligent Adversaries every 4v4 PvP game (some less than others). It's a terrible descriptor.
Is this just the Europeans' version of the Imperial measurement system?
How long until they realize "AI" (the metric system) is just better in every way?
My thoughts on this question rn
in line with what Adamircz said - I myself have never heard any European refer to AI as IA.
EDIT
DonsofSandiego, is this your way of trying to keep this forum alive?
So Nigo, respectfully, as much as we appreciate you finding new things, I also see the way you present these are much in line like a typical UK tabloid paper. A big soaring headline, a screengrab with little to no information, no verification but a lot of guessing and conjecture. Typically spawning these threads where people go off on these rants with no foundation, continued on the level of the bar that you have thus set.
Obviously, the layoffs were fueled by business results and thus, business decisions. Does these indicate to be because there is a 'troubling financial situation?' No, because if that were to be the case, it would have been better to close the studio altogether. Why keep people on the payroll for something that does not provide (reasonable) income in return?
If you ask me, this is a (technical) employee , attached to game launches and its backend services with a poor reasoning skills concerning to causality on his termination asking for a new job.
You cannot know more and everything you say after this information is considered conjecture. If you really want to be a (senior) editor in the most honest sense of the definition of the word 'editor', you'll have to do more than just deduct your reasoning of 1 employee's Linkedin post, a screengrab or selection of 5 seconds from a livestream. You'll have to verify your (multiple!) sources, talk to (multiple) people and work from there on your story. Yes this takes more than 5 minutes but if you do that, you'll be more than able to live up to the title of a (senior) editor, and the quality of your content and validity of the work you do will go up by miles.
Last Friday I was banned from Coh2, Coh3, and demoted from Mapper on this website.
*text*
*more text*
I do not care about being banned from Coh2 or 3. I do not care about being demoted at Org.
*more text which heavily contradicts statements above*
as a semi-outsider who has seen your post history and shoutbox entries since February this year it's not difficult to take a guess on why you got banned. But man, if you truly, and honestly do not care - then why the hell go through the trouble of this all? As I have said earlier, your contributions to CoH2 regarding your maps have been nothing but stellar work. But I assume you with your talent in mapping you must have better things to spend your time on than this petty stuff?
The only game I play is Coh2. I don't care about anything else Relic/Sega do. When I make posts about COH3 failing it is from a place of sadness.
During my time playing Coh2 it became apparent Relic management were morons. Every interaction with Relic = incompetence. Knowing that anyone on this site could do 10x better job than the management at Relic is disturbing and annoying.
I respect you. Seeing as most of the community maps from CoH2 that made it into automatch rotation were from you, I can only figure you have done more than your part to keep the that game alive. Seeing as Relic did actually put community made maps into rotation makes me think, even though you like to call them incompetent, they did go further than they'd have to to include the maps into a game that they logically weren't getting any new big sales from. From a management perspective you could deduct a couple of theories from that as well.
I really feel Relic has the talent to make great games, they just lack the leadership. What should we as consumers/players do to enact a change in leadership at Relic?
1) Dont give Relic money.
2) Bitch and moan as often as possible.
What will change if we don't?
I hate to piss on your bonfire as I see you really are passionate, but if you really want Relics leadership to change and you expect it to change with your current strategy there will be none. Zero. No one is going to leave / switch companies because they see (some) people bitching and moaning. The 'not giving relic money' logic is also flawed. If the product is not bringing in any money anymore, than why bother support for it instead of moving to the next one that does project sales?
Again, I understand your position, I just think there is a better way to voice yourself into getting the results you'd want.
Is this entertaining? I cannot tell whether it is a shitposting or an actual opinion.
Sega is way bigger than Coh3/Warhammer. This is probably why we are eating shit Relic produces - they don't matter for Sega.
Freaking Sonic game probably sold 3 millions before any major discounts. Personas, Football Simulator, Yakuzas... It is big.
Everybody wants to be part of mobile. Activision, EA, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo - all making investments in there independently of their other studios/strategies.
Blue Protocol can be the ultimate weeb MMO drawing the audience greater than New World, and if it is any good, sustaining it.
It is not black and white. Whatever divisions/studios at Sega are operating the casinos, slot machines, mobile games, PC games, multiplatform games, JPRGs - they have different strategies and goals.
This is so much more true than the (emotional) post that SturmtigerCobra made.
I understand the sentiment from SturmtigerCobra and Rosbone. Judging by their post history and shoutbox entries everyone gets it - both of you are (to say the least) dissapointed and might even be downright 'hurt' by what's happening at Relic and ultimately translated into CoH3 and CoH2. But the reality of the situation much more fits what Fantomasas says. comapnies believe there is more money to be gathered from mobile gaming.
I'm not a psychologist but I would strongly advise to put your efforts of voicing your negativity to Relic and or its products into something where your energy can be turned into something more fruitful. For example look at the way HelpingHans and AE are voicing their concerns, but also providing solutions. Makes it much more helpful and understandable for all.
Doctor Chengele! The COH2.org forums are in dire need of more of your medicine. Surely you must have some new targeted therapies for the ailments that are cursing the 2023 forum experience?
