@Cannonade
Because having 4 men squad that is able to inflict losses>having 6 men squad that mostly only takes them.
Lolwat?
Explain to me how a 4man unit magically has the same durability as a 6man vs vehicles that are "wiping everything equally"?
Stop your backpedalling man. Its just embarrassing and taking us nowhere. |
Also, as the game progresses more numerous squads are not an advantage as vehicles wipe everything equally.
Explain to me how its better to have a 4man unit than a 6man unit in this situation.
I guess there is some magical game mechanic that makes 6man units not have an advantage as compared to 4man units from vehicles "wiping everything equally".
Go ahead. I'll wait. This will be fascinating, I'm sure.
And grenadiers have pfaust and rnades from the get go.
Nope. RNade requires BP1. |
As I said, they actually do "scale" thanks to be being 6man.
They soak and survive bettet than 4man units in mid-late game.
And as long as they have Merge and Oorah right from the start, its sort of hard to justify a later game advantage. |
He isint asking to make them equal to lmg grens. DP cons would still lose to lmg grens. All he wants is them to be able to fight lmg grens. Nothing else.
At what range are you talking about? |
RNG doesnt care about sacrifice or prayer.
Einstein said "God doesnt play dice", but RNG dont give fuck about that.
RNG rolls dem dice. |
As Cruzz says, your stats dont add up.
Its a very tenuous balance between PIV and T3476/85.
I tend to agree it overall slightly favors Sov, due to that AI being applied against 4man infantry units, and the essentially "free " Ram, but this is somewhat recpirocated by PIV sitting neatly between these to Sov equivalents, with a "best of both worlds" kind of stat array, in addition to the emminently useful Blitz and the quite common Smoke option on many of what really are the best Ost Commanders. Pintle also allows a "half-step" to cover some of PIVs AI shortcomings, as well as a secondary AA function.
Mark Vehicle on T34/85 Commanders is very powerful, but arguably quite necessary in response to Relics penchant of sticking Tigers on so many Ost Commanders. And, also, somewhat, against Elephants.
Furthermore, there is the peripheral assymetric balqnce issue of Shrek PGrens, for which there just isnt a Sov equivalent. That counts for a few pointa, even though they are quite rarely used.
Its a very complciated balqnce system between these armor units, but overall, I think its pretty good atm.
I get where you are coming from, even though some of your stats are wrong, but the interbalqnce is quite good atm, certainly better in regards to these units, than it has been before. |
Agree 50%.
Penals should be benchmarked at G43 equivalency, preferably in mid-long.
But, I still think, as I said in the thread you linked, that a "blank slate" and wide upgrade potential for Penals is the way to go.
So a strong mid-long vanilla, with a variety of options of weapon upgrades to fill the "gap" between Sov style Commander related specialised infantry. |
I dont dispute your stats at all, but I think Albus included the fire rate as the actual core of his argument, whihc is not considered in the stats you posted (though I assume those as correct).
And yes, I agree completely on the T85s, even without Mark Vehicle (though really its so good you have to be a bit masochistic not to take it). |
I think astro makes a very good point, and one that is the first time Ive seen it and never rrally considered it myself.
That yes, especially in team-games, the field gets fucking flattened.
I think he has a very good point about how cool it would be to properly re-create cover in the luls (as in pause, not lols), between engagements for a small but crucial edge in infantry survival.
I like this way of thinking. I like it a lot. |
So FrikadelleXXL amd Katitof.
If I make a proposal thread to put Ram on PIV, am I correct in understanding both of you will vocally support it?
Katitof: "Ram is a non factor anymore"
FrikadelleXXL: "I wouldn't care if Ram is put on P4" |
