You take advantage of extra units experience, but is also losing fuel problem, just always sacrificing to have more tanks doing it.
you need to elaborate more, are you saying that Troop training's fuel cost off sets the advantages by delaying tanks? |
It just is needs some tweaking.
The idea of getting vet troops is fine. However how is it implemented needs tweaking.
Current Troop training is FU intensive but low MP and starts at 0CP. Thus the user could use them immediately to get some advantage early game with hardly any consequences, which does not effect much since its MP intensive early on. If played well, he/she could negate the FU disadvantage by taking more sectors. To make the matters worst, tiger ace does not require any FU allowing to be independent from the need for FU.
Troop training is not an issue later during mid-late game, as there are more units as well as vet units in the game.
I m suggesting that it should be more MP and less FU, with the intention that get quality unit while sacrificing quantity. That will influence the capping power and map control.
I m suggesting it should be:
320MP 15FU from 100MP 25FU
90sec cooldown
less exp bonus (limit to Vet2)
I would argue that it is a problem in late game too. Think of how much loss has happend on both sides by 40 minutes, each of those veteran squads are replaced with a non-veted one which creates a new flow of game play. Typically in higher level games tanks also live longer because players use them conservatively. If you do not need to replace tanks all the time, you have the fuel to keep vetting your new troops creating a whole vet 2-3 army while the Soviet is still a mix of veteran units

Too expensive. Useless.
Have you ever tried using it early? it cost less than getting molotovs but now you have a vet three unit that easily bends map control in your favor, which after a few minutes pays for itself plus more. Because territory is income, having more map control at the cost of resources is like taking an early expansion in traditional RTS's, it has an up front cost, but it pays for itself plus extra as time goes on. |
My problem with it is that when used the unit dramatically out preforms other units, and when used aggressively the Ostheer player can force engagements (because otherwise all your territory will be disconnected). Granting Vet three instantly also makes hard counters difficult to use. Mortars are good against G43 grens but all of the sudden a vet three mortar pops out and counter barrages them to death allows easy counter play. |
Thank you very much AmiPolizeiFunk! |
I recreated this poll, sorry for my stupidity |

Don't worry, I'm done with him now and won't keep it offtopic.
And on topic, have you seen last nights HelpingHans game where he used ISUs?
They did wipe some squads, but were destroyed waaaay before they have paid for themselves.
Pumas can simply hunt them down effortlessly and imagine if the map was different and allowed for better flanks then his opponent pulled of.
If you loose 3 pumas in the process you're still on top with resources.
Han's face was priceless the first time Cruzzi rushed him with 5 pumas |
I just realized I was not paying attention when I set the answers and do not know how to edit the poll, I guess just ignore me. |
I win consistently against any other commander, and I would like to know if it is just because I simply have not adapted correctly. |
I'm at a loss for this commander, Anything I try to do to counter them they just vet the counter to my counter. A recent game I saw they were saving munitions for G43s while getting MGs to keep map control. I got mortars to counter the mgs and try and put the hurt on the grens. He got one mortar and vetted it. Needless to say it used counter barrage and killed them both, over and over again. Its so hard to deal with because even if you try and take other parts of the map, they Ostheer player simply takes your territory adjacent to your base unlocking everything forcing engagements against Vet three stuff you cant hope to win against. all while they have a pio squad cap and or mine up the map so even though they used some resources on troop training, their income has been much greater than yours. |
