So a lot of players are having difficulties with playing the Faction. Many of them also claim the Kubelwagon is useless but I find it to fill a very vital role because of the lack in damage output with Volks grens. I have some tips with using them and I hope this replay will help players Identify useful situations for them.

First I want to start off with why I think this unit is vital in the early game. OKW have a weak early game compared to US and Soviets. Focus fire will shred your poor sturm pios who have most of your early DPS, and they are un armored like P grens so any time you take damage it hurts. Volks grens have piss poor DPS, I only really use them for capping or pushing away builder utility units that are capping. So what does the kubel wagon do to help? Well like in the replay You use it to make the early fights one sided. Suppressing your opponents units makes even volks win handedly in their fights. plus you avoid crucial early damage for your sturm pios so they can stay on the field longer. The reason this is so important is because OKW has a hampered economy and your units are expensive. unless you spam Volks grens, you do not have many units capping around the map, so if a fight goes bad, not only do you loose man power, but more time because it will take you longer to re cap those positions than Soviets or US. Plus the early mobility allows you to easily flank early Soviet T2 and like in the replay deal with snipers. Now this unit has a timer to be sure, mine lasted over 10 minutes being repaired a few times, but in that time it allowed me to gain map control and stop early man power bleed which pushed me into a very strong mid game.

Now tips for using the kubel wagon:

1) use the early supply truck to scout where your opponent is capping so you know where your opponents forces are going. That way you can know where to send your kubel wagon
2) try to keep it at max range to reduce the damage it takes and put more distance between you and your opponents stuff so you can get away in the worst situations
3) when using kubel vs weapons teams get point blank, it actually does quite a bit of damage
4) in the first few minutes of the game, use its speed to your advantage. if you see an adjacent territory being captured on the south front, send your kubel wagon down south to support, It is very fast and will be there in a timely matter to make an impact.
5) its paper thin, never get super close to infantry units unless they are suppressed, you may loose it in that split second
6) it is a recon unit that is very fast, If you win an early fight you might as well go forward a bit to see if there are reinforcements coming. Just do not do that around blind corners

I hope this gets spread around a bit, It would be nice to see people considering using the kubel wagon more often than just disregarding it

Nicely done! I'll probably give this a shot.
Would help if I knew more about how to react to what the enemy shows me. Any advice?

cool. This will make playing OKW interesting..... maybe. They still steamroll anything late game...they gave OKW too much in my opinon. AT guns....shreks.... seems like they just stock up on AT, then ubersoldiers, then epic tanks...GG

Well late game is their strength, OKW does not necessarily steam roll everything late game. OKW is a faction defined by a hampered early game into an odd mid game. their super soldiers only really arrive if you let them, for example in a bad fight you have two options, Run right off the bat and save MP while denying XP or shooting it out, gleaning as much damage as you can before you retreat.

Volks grens are pretty awful, If you face a mob of shrecks then you can pretty much steam roll most of their infantry generally.

You'll have to be a little more specific. Do you mean first contact, Territory flashing, or general prediction?

Here is a general video/ guide that Hans made that should be helpful

I meant, for example... how do you react to, say, Russian Tier 1, and how to Russian Tier 2?

Well If you see Russian T1 you'l need the little AT gun and the kubel wagon like in the replay, M3s are nasty but you can mitigate what they do by using buildings effectively. Sniper teams are a little tricky to deal with, the Kubel does alright at pushing them away but you need a vehicle or the infantry gun to really do anything to them. G43s as a rule of thumb generally counters snipers. To counter T2 you for sure need the infantry gun. The flack truck is good at clearing maxims and just about any of your units can kill them with flanks.
