Yup guards are in need of some work. Not too good at anti vehicle and not to good at anti infantry. Very expensive and I find that having more than one squad is a waste. Which sucks because I would like to use more guards and less conscripts but they cost way too much manpower and after you lose one or two entities they are combat in effective.
Guards need to come out with svt and then upgrade with ptrs or lmg. Right now they do not represent their unit description very well |
I will definitely try your ambush method. I always gave away my b4 position because of blind shooting for vet. Sorry my post earlier was not aimed you it was the posters acting like it was overpowered in some way.
Apocalypse now.... Probably watched that show 20 times...
Relic balance is like watching a snail crawl across a straight razor. A straight razor.... |
My issues with the p2w commander which is heavily used by top 10 ladder players. So you know it's the most broken and abused piece of horse tripe in the game.
1. You don't earn your experience. You didn't risk your unit to get vet. You didn't give the enemy vet by fighting them. Most of the time the resources to buy the vet were a result of pio or gren spam early map pushes.
2. The biggest douche bags vet the mortar. Why because the only risk with using troop training is a squad wipe. If you train up support units or armor you can escape .
3. Vet units kill better and get more vet easily.
4. Vet units evade shots, harder to squad wipe
5. Vet units get special abilities way before they should.
6. Vet units give you an edge that allows you to take or hold resource you normally would not get.
Like I said watch high level players almost all of them have the doctorine and abuse the shit out of it. So you know it is p2w. |
Calm down it is not that great of a unit.
1. Getting vet 1 on the thing is very hard. The accuracy is so random you can take 10 shots before it kills anything. Add in high cost to make vet harder.
2. Precision shot is not 100 percent. But enough to hurt static emplacements like pack 43 and howitzers.
3. Tank shot cost 150 munitions? So many variables come into play for the ability to work and not waste your munitions.
You need full line of sight. Which means there are only so many places you can build it effectively on the map. Also elevations in terrain screw with the ability to target.
Your shot can also hit buildings, dead vehicles ect.
4. Pop cap really hurts
5. Slow rotation and aim speed
6. Easy to kill
7. Long cool down times.
Honestly the only time I seen it usefull was in a 4v4 when I got the lower island on the steppes. My tanks got wiped out by a pack 43 camper with good panther defense and support. So I sent in a sniper with hold fire on to scout his emplacements. I destroyed all his pack 43's and all his damaged panthers with pio hordes repairing too.
His buddies simply recon/Stuka run my b4 but I would rebuild again. Even though I kept getting bombed it was one less recon or Stuka run against my teammates and they could push the middle and top of the map. Since then I have not seen much use for the unit. |
You are never going to convince the little kids of the fact that the german faction was so game breaking unbalanced. They are just mad because they cannot play Mario kart coh.2 addition any more.
Blitz gives you an edge on tanks that are already better than the oppositions. If it is only 10 percent of an edge it is still an edge. Current blitz works great. I will point it out again for the kids.
1. Tanks shoot more accurately when not moving.
So how does the current blitz give you an edge? By allowing you to accelerate instantly. This allows you to stop and go between shots. You have better mobility than your opponent while in blitz. Allows better kiteing.
2. Rivers, snow, mud and obstacles decelerate tanks.
Being able to flank at full speed across rivers, snow, mud and obstacles gives you a huge advantage. It also allows you to escape faster than enemy tanks who are chasing you down across these obstacles.
3. Response to ram and at nades increased.
Being able to quickly move out of range of the ram ability and at nades at full speed is very helpfull.
So once again I will quote all the abusers of the broken and insanely overpowered faction. L2p and adapt. You do not have relic holding your hand anymore. You have face the music and play a sort of balanced game now. Not that horse shit the soviets had to live through last patch.
|
I used one and got level 3 vet on it pretty quick. Level one gives you stun ability which allows you to move you pak at gun into range. You also can use panzer Faust and shrecks to Finnish the tank off.
It's a great tank for when you do not have enough fuel for a p4 but need mobile at to take advantage of a situation immediately that will allow you to push the fuel points.
I think most german players do not like it cause they exploited the balance for so long they always had enough fuel to buy better tanks. Now they have to actually build an at gun and a stug when they get off balance a bit.
L2p adapt to a balanced game. |
I agree. I also didn't touch the Germans last patch because it was little kid mode. It was a disgrace to use such a bullshit op faction. Now I can play Germans again which was my faction of choice in coh1.
As for blitzkrieg it still works great, especially in snow, mud, rivers and battlefield obstacles. It is time to take off the diapers and start to potty train. As all the german exploiters would say before the patch l2p and adapt. |
Are you kidding me? Gren spam or pio spam can push the soviets off the map at the start.
Hell one pio squad has almost the same range as the m3 against the m3. Which means you do not even need a faust to push it back.
One gren squad can push a m3 back because a faust will almost kill the m3. So if you take any small arms fire from the gren sqaud you have to evac just incase a faust may come and now instantly wipe you and the squad inside the m3.
If you cannot get enough munitions to have one faust in tier one I don't know what to say. You must be sitting in your base doing nothing at all.

It pisses me off how they made the Germans so overpowered and easy to play. I had about 4000 matches as Wehrmacht in coh 1.
I was proud of the fact you could not spam bs and win. You had too have combined arms, skill and knowledge of the game to survive the early game. Mid game was even and then you could roll in with tanks and make the allies pay with a superior end game. You had to choose your doctorine wisely and react to you opponent.
Now I can't even bring myself to play the ost because they gave them too many easy modes. You didn't have to be ashamed to tell people you were a german player. You just had instant respect because it was a faction men played.
All the kiddies played para, rifleman and ranger spam blobs. |
I suggested an air superiority doctrine ability in coh and people flamed me hard for it.
Basically it was to counter the strafe spam at the time. You spend equivalent ammo to buy a certain amount of time to prevent air strikes from being called in. So if you wanted to do an offensive push you click the ability and didn't have to worry about airstrikes. Of course it would have cp and cool down like every other ability.
