Its very simple:

A cheap, durable, medium tank counter doesn't need it.

Its T3 vehicle that isn't really supposed to fight its own counters.

So you are afraid of an emplacement, which can still be easy counterd by all your stuff? The only change would be the first shot with StuG benefit in hull down versus Allii tank-destroyer.

You are simply a joke.

Do people actually use hulldown on a turretless tank?
I haven't seen hulldown in years, and literally never seen someone use it with a stug.

Thats is true. And I want to change it.

After the Brummbär range nerf it will become more useless. lol

This is where the problem is, Firefly kills Panther which cost more easily. And teching for it is much harder than it is for British player. I would reduce the accuracy of 60 range TD's from max range by 50%. So to reliably hit a tank they would need to close to that 40-50 range where every tank can hit.

This doesn't mean they would close to that distance, but it wouldn't make them so damn easy to use with their superior range and every hit dealing so much damage which for axis is so much harder to repair compared to allies.

No, Firefly shoots first when vision it provides.
When both can shoot at each other, Panther ROFLstomps it(thanks to its HP and RoF buffs), same for SU-85, same for Jackson.

So much so that it required attention in the last balance patch.

The answer thusly being: "Of course not."

Also hull-down-bug is still present.

So, my next Project is to look for a better hull-down funktion.

What the Stug needs is a pop cap revert back to 8. Su76 never got a pop increase. As well, fix the useless TWP.

SU-76 also never got 160 dmg and ability to get shot 3 times by AT gun and not die.

Better vehicles cost more pop cap.

And su has 200+ pen, 60 range, not one but two abilities that work much better than stug twp, slightly faster rotation. So typical of you Katitof to be so biased.

Give the Stug 180 base armor now that its pop cap and RoF has been nerfed. Still penetrated all the time by all dedicated AT, but less vulnerable to light and medium tanks, which it is supposed to counter.

For 60 range AT, OST has the PaK 40 already.

That is why it should get 55, not 60.

Why is the stug AT only? It has the same gun as pz IV and should be able to deal the same anti infantry damage.

I'd love to see the stug as it is supposed to be. As a handicapped tank without the moving turret for cheaper cost. I mean its 90 fuel vs 120 fuel to get the same AT capability but it has 0 anti infantry efficiency.

Sure this would make it that ostwind would almost never see use, but it never does anyways as it is completely useless because for 20 fuel more you can get Pz4 which deals more dps and can actually fight enemy tanks.

I could extend this into the conversation about why can't all tanks switch between AT and HE ammo (with the exception of firefly) but that would open a whole new can of butthurt so instead I just would love to hear some arguments as to why stugs gun can't have the same anti infantry capability as the Pz IV >:(

That is because of balance. Germans tanks have bad anti-AI line-up, beside of Brummbär, which performs ok, if you have micro.

To compensate the lack of AI of StuG G you can use the StuG E. Panzer 4 is a weak allrounder.

Same philosophy as Scott M8A1 has a 75mm, Sherman 75 has a 75mm, Panther has a 75mm.
PzIIIN has a 75mm. Sherman 76 has a 76mm, SE8 has a 76mm, Firefly has a 77mm. Comet has a 77mm.
Pz4D Command Tank all have a 75-77mm, StuG and Pz4 also has a 75mm. They should all have the same
stats. I can't wait for M8A1 Scott to have Panther armor <444>3

StuIIIG has better frontal armor than Pz4.
It has more range than Pz4.
It has more pen than Pz4.
It has more ROF than Pz4.

Thank you.

It also have twp.

Stug deserves either more mobility like the su76 or more armor or even a smaller target size. I've said it a few months ago. Any defensive buff is good. The problem with teh Stug was simply the RoF otherwise it's paper. Mediums can just rush the stug without even flanking now just to see if you're paying attention because one second too late and your Stug is done for since it no longer has the RoF to punish a frontal assault and the tank that was meant to counter mediums gets hardcountered easily.

How does the Stug's accuracy compare with other TDs at max range?
