I would increase the suppression by 10 percent and remove the awful bulletin

I agree. You will have a hard time to find the correct supression value otherwise. It's underwhelming if you don't use the bulletin, but fine with the bulletin. Before, it was fine without the bulletin, but OP with the bulletin.

That bulletin just causes a lot of trouble.

I'd say a touch more than 10%, and the guy with the username I can't spell already said they're changing bulletins.

I really don't like that slow traverse. MG42 should have it's long setup time balanced with it's wide cone, but now that huge cone seems like a liability. Could somebody time (or calculate) what's faster: MG42 going from edge to edge of it's cone or maxim packing up and facing another direction?

Oz - in the replay how does the caster get it to display both players commanders and unit icons?

you guys who cry about the mg42 nerf need to learn how to use grens and pgrens as your main inf unit. mg42 is now what it should be a support weapon not a front line attack main unit attack squad. as german player i rarely use mg42 anymore and have no problem using grens upgunned instead.

No wonder, they are pretty much useless right now.

While the mg42 was to cost efficent pre patch it is now too expensive for what it does.

the maxim used to suppress last patch too. it was just slow. look how many soviets made threads about how it sucked. now the mg42 is slow as suppressing. no one ever said it wont suppress. given enough time, it obviously will. the issue is, does the mg42 suppress fast enough to stop a single conscript squad from walking straight at it to molotov?

ive had instances where cons are able to do this and its not right, just like grens walking right at maxims to rifle nade wasnt right.

Well yeah,but pre-patch the Maxim was useless and the MG42 was a gg unit...Now they both suck at their role,but weirdly this seemed to have balanced the game a little...

the maxim sucks at its role? how do you figure? if the maxim was useless last patch, what does that make the mg42 this patch?

i just checked my suppression tables and realized there was a mistake. the correct numbers show that the maxim suppresses and pins faster than an mg42 at all ranges in this new patch.

Maxim didn't fail as hard prepatch as MG42 does now.

wooof are you sure about the dps claim from a page back or so (edit: I can't find it now, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't halucinating that)? I've seen a cast with a MG42 losing to Combat Engineers with flamethrowers running through it's arc of fire. That doesn't exactly shout "Great DPS" to me.

Also, somebody talk about turning speed pls.

i am sure. the dps is very dependent on the number of entities its search radius (radius around its target, from what i understand).

sorry ive had a few mistakes lately. the spreadsheet has gotten so big now, its hard to make sure everything is updated. when 1 number changes, i end up having to change it in multiple places. multiply that by how many changes happen per patch, it can be a little difficult to keep track of at times. hope that doesnt bring all my numbers into question :) ive double checked these mg numbers multiple times now though. pqumsieh also verified that the mg42 dps can get to be 40+ when there are enough entities.

id have to see that video youre talking about to really know how the engi beat the mg. lucky flame crits could keep killing the entity thats actually on the mg and prevent it from firing though.

haha well thats hilarious. i think youre the extreme minority to be stealing mg42s.

He's not the only one. MG42 is still better than Maxim for me. I you want to swap them around then I'm more than happy to do so. Just write a petition to Relic. I'll sign it.
