"Le.IG 18
The Le.IG is being made to require more micro to use at its full potential, but will now be more readily available and will now allow OKW players to be aggressive against support heavy builds through the deployment of smoke.
...
Auto-fire range from 100 to 80"

same as Ostheer/Soviet mortar.

What is your point? The pack howie has an autofire range of 80 also, and the USF mortar, which costs about the same as the Ost mortar, has an autofire range of only 60.

That contrary to the quote which I include that claims that Leig has a "long range" it has the typical range of 80.

Is there any justifiable balance reason for this unit and the pack howitzer not being able to retreat?

Like Would they be too strong if they could retreat? I certainly don't think so. It seems like they just wanted to make them different for the hell of it.

+ 1

-Give pack howie and isg retreat button
-Give isg normal/higher cost
-Give isg better aoe
-Give pack howie a lower cooldown

So much bs useless unit for the "muh asimmetrical balance"

The LeIG provide heavy cover to its gunner and loader, similar to the ATG. thus they don't have retreat ability.

on the other hand, the Pack howitzer lack a gun shield, so they should get retreat. the extra crew doesn't really matter since they usually get chain lock.

ITS A FKN FIELD GUN (AKA Artillery) WHY THE F DID THEY NERF IT TO MORTAR STATUS!! AAARRGGGHH!!! :creeper::creeper:

In reality mortar shell are generally more powerful than howitzer shell of the same caliber. This is because a mortar shell have a higher firing arc and thus drop closer to a 90 degree angle.

Mortar shell also typically have more High explosive filler as the lower velocity allow for a thinner wall.

the main advantage of a field gun over a mortar is generally range, not destructive power.

i think that gun Need more effective AOE (like the Light artillery barrage from OST) and a x2 faster amunition speed., That could be nice but put the old stats and price

First of all, you are not using your Pack howitzer/Leig properly if you let it get attacked by... anything. It would become more of a ''get out of jail free card'' much like the raketen, which would render flanking this weapon pointless to attempt.

Second of all, you're asking for the wrong changes. Everyone knows that the leig is kind of mediocre when it comes to AOE, so why not ask for something better there? How many times would you benefit from a better AOE, and how many times would you benefit from retreating when outflanked?

That's doctrinal though, and is a heavy mortar, not really comparable to the Leig(especially regarding overall performance).

Last time i checked jadgtiger/elephant was still doctrinal when it got balanced..

Leig performances are the bottom of indirect fire too, nothing is as trashy as something that can't simply force garrisons out for the mere reason that aoe can't grant any threat to it.
Autofire was the only good thing with double isg, and it got nerfed.
Nothing is worse than it, nothing.

^this.
Last game I played we got pushed hard with MGs and Inf for about 5 minutes and my ISG had 1 kill. One. Somehow multiple MGs were setup in an area about 3 meters by 3 meters and took tens of hits from my ISG. No kills. No damage. But an SU76 one-shot a full health double vet Volks squad on the move in open terrain :faint:

the old ISG had good range...this was nerfed...so it has not good range, quasi zero AOE, bad aiming, bad sheel speed, no wiping potencial and no retreat....

copy the gun from a scott and all is fine....

Duh. The exceptions would be HMG's for obvious reasons, but in general letting indirect fire being attacked by infantry etc is generally not a good way to play. That someobe wants to use it as an argument for giving the Leig a retreat button is laughable.

So mortars shouldn't be able to retreat by your logic right?

It is it funny that the ISG and Raketen are similar sizes, yet one can retreat, and one cannot. Isn't the logic suppose to be behind the fact the ISG has a shield so it's units sit in green cover?

Irl a rak is a crude metal pipe with legs which you stick a panzerfaust in. The Leig is a mini howitzer with a breech block and wheels and shield

Dunno how you compare mortars to support guns, but ok.

Because they now function exactly the same?
