17 Pounder vs Pak 43

The Pak 43 - (for OKW I have not seen the OST one in forever) fires one shot at a cromwell, vets up and gains TWP, can fire through buildings and be placed out of site for a nasty suprise, costs 500 Man power and 10 popcap.

17 Pounder - Fires 5 shots (all pen) at a KT and hits vet 1, gains the ability to shoot through shot blockers, costs 400 man power, 75 fuel and 20 popcap.

I understand that it shouldn't be as good as the doctrinal units because they are doctrinal, but at the same time, its just a joke unit at a stupid price. If I remember correctly the balance patch was going to give it the vet 1 ability from the get go allowing it to shoot through walls for a cost of muni, that would have been a great start, is this coming back at all?



Its popcap really needs to be reduced too, 1/5th of the army when compared the the P43 at 10 popcap, 1/10th of the army.

One of the many FBP changes that I'm hoping will get snuck back in. 17 Pounder is such a unicorn of a unit right now - I'd be happy just to have it's popcap reduced.

According to the stats I am looking the XP value is identical for Ostheer and 17p, OKW has about half that for vet 1.

There should be little on difference for penetrated shot on the same value targets for Osth/17P while the OKW should vet around twice as fast.

1. 17pounder is a non-doc unit
2. Pak 43 is a doc-unit ..in not really meta docs
3. try to destroy the pak43 and than try to destroy the 17p and come again here and write your exprierence
4. 17p has recon
5. 17 is often surronded by sim city and is the cherry on the cake...only jt can outrange this sim city now

Honestly the Pwerfer and OKW rockets both don't do all that much damage against emplacements. You figure that should be the hard counter to them or something.

As for the 17 pounder, It'd kind of be nice to see it buffed but it's a catch 22. People hate sim city so it only encourages that. Shooting through objects at level 1 using an ability is probably the only thing it needs right now.

17p is simply to accessible (with 145 fuel tech cost and another 75 to build, less than stug).

17p should get some restrictions like become doctrinal or have a serious tech cost or become available only to anvil or mutually exclusive with FF, then one can start buffing it and see how it goes.

I'd rather have a Pak 43, 17 Pounder is wayyyy too fucking big, costly (that 75 fuel tho) and too much pop cap for something that's going to only waste my resources, space and pop cap for half the game, even if it's better protected and has self spotting and a building shoot through ability.

Just put the Pak 43 behind a shotblocker it can shoot through, plop the medical and flak HQ near it and you should have the same neat little defensive position as the 17 pounder, and the crew can be naded to get the pop cap back from it when it's not in use, repair it, and just crew it if the pesky Allies come through the area with armor again.

Both are not worth it. 17 pounder is shit, although it is really gimmicky. The pak43 for Ostheer is worthless and gets insta gibbed by anything that fires at it and decrews it. The OKW pak43 is where it is at, but still, pretty useless in 99% of the cases in a 1v1

Neither are really worth it. Airburst shells from UKF usually kill the PAK 43 in 1-2 barrages. The pop cap of the 17 pounder means that it is rarely built, and LEIG's take it down easily. I'm okay with both of them not being built.

I'd honestly take a pop cap reduction for the 17 pdnr. The fact that the pak 43 can shoot through buildings so ez is still really an issue. The changes to the range on the jagtiger should allow for more 17 pndrs to be built at least.

thje pak43 is a glascanon...can be easily destroyed.

the 17p is a really hard to destro building with its brace and right commander..

the pak43 must have something like shoot thorugh buldings...or buff its surviveabilty

once it has shot and the enemy recodnize the pak43---he will easily destroy with one callins or arty indirect fire with one volley.

its has not the alien technology from brits..and its a doc-unit---while 18p is not and can stand vs all arty s and tanks swarming a long time ...and has flares
