Hello all,
I love CoH2! and probably will always play it. Wehr FTW!! But... the British are a pain in my ass all the time, the only problem I have with them is that all the other factions start off with engineers but they start off with riflemen... that are way to strong early game... and that are also very difficult to counter, there are counters but they rely very much on luck and timing and positioning.(Which when all 3 are combined are not the easiest thing to get right, also when counting in other factors like other units that you have to manage.)
I would just like to know why they get them early game and not engineers?????

HA now that is new one!
You can easily outnumber brits in early game, outflank and outcap.
Brits are weakest faction in game in the first 5 mins of the game.
If you believe they are strong in early game, then you must be playing 4v4.

They have tommierifles because of... faction design. Same it was in vCoH.
Wouldn't say, that it's so hard to counter them. MG-42, mortars, different OKW infantry... Of course, they are powerful, but not immortal.
And... I wouldn't say, that tommierifles are most powerful starting unit in game. OKW Sturmpios are powerful too. Effective at almost all ranges, shot at move without penalty...

I think this thread should be in the strategy section and discuss tactics on how to encounter tommies. This unit is certainly most balanced.

A Wehr player having problems early game against Brits? Now I've seen everything.
On a more serious note, ever heard of Ostruppen, Sniper, Half-track combo? Even an MG42 in a good position (preferably in a house) and a sniper would alone bleed out the Brits and screw em up pretty good because of the lack of smoke and good early game anti-garrison abilities.

I would say that tommies are the least useful unit in brit arsenal. If you can't counter this unit, don't even try against others. I hate vetting up units that become worse with highest vet level...
Also, brits would love to have cheap to reinforce engineer as their first unit. They would be able to repair their UC, too.
