I have the feeling that friendly fire changed compared to vCoH. The damage done by your artillery, both on and off map, on your own troops seem to be much weaker. Is this so? Do be have numbers?

I don't know how about heavy artillery but offmaps deal full dlamage to allied troops while ISGs and mortars deal no damage, even on direct hit. Tested on LeIG many times.

Most weapon have a modifier for friendly fire...
The LeIg should be doing around half the damage on friendly units if the stat I am looking at are updated.

Maybe it was ninja fixed since I played last match with such occurence. But at some point I definitely saw squads getting hit in the manner that would wipe them if they were not germans.

I think a lot of the British and OKW artillery shells deal virtually no friendly fire damage. I think a number of them a .1 modifier, whereas most have something like 0.5. I'll have to look it up in the mod tools to be sure.

I will say more - British arty shells deal no damage at all, not only friendly.
And I should agree with OP - it looks a bit strange, when mortar shell dropped right on my squad deals almost no damage. Understandable why, but still looks wierd.
I think, that friendly fire should be more dangerous - it will force you too keep your mortars, field guns and such stuff under control, not like "plant and forgot". But, for that, I think some artillery (specially howitzers) may deserve buff, which is really required, specially for those British.

So I looked at a bunch of stats in the Mod Tools.
There's a lot of variance in modifiers.
There's kind of a few different profiles:
Most Axis artillery, including panzerwerfers and OKW stuka:
far: 0.025
mid: 0.075
near: 0.5
Everyone's grenades and all other Axis artillery save for the LieG:
far: 0.25
mid: 0.25
near: 0.25
LieGs, Katyushas, virtually every artillery shell from the British, USF and Soviets.
far: 0.025
mid: 0.025
near: 0.025
Outside of a few switches from clear copy and paste jobs, there's a few oddities as well, for instance Land mattress' phosphorus rockets are:
far: 0.1
mid: 0.2
near: 0.5
Rifle grenades are 0.15/0.15/0.15.
There's a lot of variance in modifiers.

That explains the LeIG, I wonder if that additional zero is intentional.

Considering they were tweaking both pak howies and LieGs awhile back I can see how they would've adjusted them the same way.

Oh I forgot to say, ALL mortars (except the smokes and phosphorus) use the 0.025/0.025/0.025 friendly fire profile. So barrage your own units with impunity.
Interestingly enough, there's a mortar weapon for OKW in the mod tools that uses the 0.027/0.075/0.5.

Pls don't turn an game-play issue, into an "allies are weak" balance issue, especially since Allies seem to have the upper hand in this case with their artillery doing less friendly damage in most cases...

thank you guys for your input. Interesting information and thoughts. So it seems my feeling wasnt wrong.
I wonder what might be the reason for this change compared to vCoH. Personally, I find it quite a nice game feature if artillery usage includes the skill to avoid friendly fire.
