Raketen should become uncloaked when capping

I think an AT gun being able to sneak through enemy lines and cap points while hidden is just silly.

Increasingly raketens are used as a behind-enemy-lines capper/tank killer. I understand why they have concealment given their relative lack of stopping power but an AT gun that can camouflage AND retreat just doesn't work.

My suggestion would be to automatically uncloak AT guns that are capping/decapping points.

Fully agree that it's stupid.

I'd suggest an alternative though - make it so that they have no capping power while cloaked. That way they'd have to decloak to cap or defend against being capped and you'd have less accidental uncloaking for the player.

Agree.

They should nerf maxims, vickers then.


I think they will do something about maxims eventually. Vickers though, doesn't suppress in one burst but has a very wide arc.

Could you please tell me how does MGs relate to invisible units capping points?
I do not see invisible maxims and vickers capping points.
I'm sure one of those two are a problem but that is in another thread.
If you're so concerned about it, please bring the topic back up in the old thread or create a new one and keep this one relevant about the topic.

Nah, Raketens don't need an outright nerf. They just shouldn't be used as behind-enemy-lines partisan-style troops, it's an AT gun for God's sake.

They are a very odd unit.

I don't know if they should remain cloaked in enemy territory. I have sent 3 of them cloaked in a pack hunting for repairing tanks to very good effect. They are slow but 3 cloaked pack a punch on any damaged tanks and only counter is to not repair a tank anywhere outside of base.

Pop cover fire and retreat for free tank kills.

yes also same should goes for SU AT cloak too. I actually think all unit are caping should be uncloak like snipers, and elite infantry who can cloak.

Good one

Should be made across the board, no cap while cloak. When you play lategame vs Partisan with whole map covered in yellow cover u will understand.

I like the no cap while camod and agree that the same treatment would need to go for the zis as well.
ALSO the vet 1 for the rakk is no speed debuff when camod iirc so that makes it extra handy for stealth capping.
Also obviously other "stealth" units shouldnt be effected (snipers, ambush camod Wehr lads, partisans ect)

While logically consistent, if they didn't I wouldn't complain since ZiS-3s can't retreat and move like molasses while stealthed.

Anyways I do think cloaked should remove, or at least reduce, capping. But I do think similar logic should apply to other stealthed units like snipers.
