I'm looking for things like setup, arc, suppression rate, damage

The maxim/dshka are so damn broken
- goes in circles, so it sometimes take unnecessarily long to set up
- when moving/retreating, if the guy carrying the gun dies, they freeze for a bit
So, in my opinion, the maxim is the worst MG. Even worse than MG34.
MG42 has best suppression, so does 50 cal.

MG42 feels like the best all around MG in the game. However, I could rave on for days about how great Vickers is, with respect to the synergy it receives from the faction it is in.
This is some of the most fun combos I could think of
1. Excellent damage vs garrisons
2. Siege mode at vet1 (trenches)
3. Best spotter unit
4. Destroy cover
5. Advanced window-making capabilities (aka PIATs)
6. Commnandos Doctrine smoke cover
7. All of the combos, together!
Sure, the MG42 is still better in 75% of the cases. It's nowhere near as fun and cool as the Vickers, though!

Having faced a Dshk in rl I can assure you that it's suppression should be insane.
Basically a Soviet anti tank rifle cartridge, and a big one at that ( Boys is just a necked up .50 cal) belted in a big fucking machine gun. Rumour has it it can kill you without even hitting you, though I don't know first hand for obvious reasons.
Excellent tips Mr.Smith, thank you! Gawd knows what the Brits would do without the Vickers. Seems to beat an MG 42 in garrison to garrison by inches, but it does.

The maxims going circles is because you try to set it up behind it, use right click or a move instead and you dont have to deal with the circles.
