Should the JagTiger out range the 17pndr? With sight from other units the JagTiger can kill a 17pndr without moving into range of the the the AT gun. It simply doesn't make sense that they should have different ranges as the 17 pndr is an emplacement and is static.

Am I the only one? Infantry and arty as well as burst fire from other units (counters brace) should be able to kill these.

Both Jagdtigers and elephants have been extremely OP for a long time. They have no real counters other then being overwhelmed by a large number of tanks.

The only reason they aren't complained about more here is because they are pretty much useless in 1v1 where their cost prevents the player from supporting it properly. And the vast majority of coh2.org members don't care about anything other then 1v1.

They really need to rebalance it so it is equally powerful across all modes.

I wouldn't mind them being cheaper but less good, to be honest.

Maybe reduce Jagdtiger and Elephant range to 65 and remove stun-lock on Jagdtiger whenever it gets hit, but up its fuel cost some to account for patch changes to OKW? That way it still outranges tanks, but not as badly for better counterplay and is in range of static ATGs.

I could also get behind this. Make them fat TDs without making them godly TDs like they are now.

You don't need sight, just attack ground. Jagdriger is best counter to emplacements.

I remember this happend to the pak43, back when the ISU had 100 range.
Elefant,PAK43,17 pounder, ISU = 70 range
JT = 85 range

They are only extremely OP, if people have no clue to counter pure AT tanks. They removed the focus sight on the Elefant/ISU and you never had focus sight on a JT. You need at least troops for spotting, furthermore they cost a shitload of resources.
Both are strong tanks yes, but definitely not extremely OP.

Jadgtiger counters 17 pounder :foreveralone:

Remove crew shock and give it 70 range.

It's just a shame the Ferdinand doesn't get criticals if molotovs are thrown onto it. It's been in the game from day one, represented as the elefant. In reality the soviets dealt with the machine at Kursk in the crudest of fashions once they knew it had no infantry protection.

Still a very silly concept that allied TD's have Lower pen, lower armor, lower range and also don't kill inf. I guess the thought was mobility made up for all 4 of the later (M10 is unique to the scenario but not much longer) but mobility is countered by the fact the Elefant and Jagd only need basic spotting to start nailing your tanks on thier Rush in. The Jagd pen bulletin is adorable though.

maybe thats the tradeoff for having way superior inf and light vehicles?

I don't see how dedicated TDs, not having a way to deal with infantry is "silly" it is part of the reason they cost less than the Panther. The Jagdtiger penetration bulletin is the ultimate troll bulletin, I am sure some Relic dev put it in there for the lolz.

I actually think the solution here is buffing the range on AT guns, more specifically the static ones. This would also help some of the less used commanders gain a bit of a footing. Nerfing the Jagdtigers range will likely make it useless.

I feel like the range limits just dont make sense we have weapons of war here that don't just stop shooting at a certain range because some dev decided it. They're like subjective as hell.

Buffing range on at guns and static emplacements would be cool, but then, they would have to do that to counters or something to balance it out. Also if you buff the range on the pak and it can shoot through everything that will make it OP to some.

Lol this thread is in a vacume, if a JT is spending it's time on a 17 pounder, that means that it's a wasted investmentime for the OKW. Compare the fuel cost of the two, as well as the MP cost. And on amother note, then realize that your free to do whatever, wherever else because the game changing unit is wasting it's time on a braced structure...

Or maybe it fires once and forces brace, turns to destroy some other target, and then 30 seconds latter destroys the emplacement.

Also not a waste of time to destroy a tank's worth of resources that is preventing you from using armor around it.

You know that you dont need to do anything with jagd, right? Like just sit there under cover of 5 (or more if you have limit) raketens and support allied tanks/your own infantry.

Also you can attack emplacements AFTER brace.

"spending time"

All it has to do is shoot until it forces brace, and then it can do whatever it wants and when brace ends rip 17 pounder.

Sorry that you attack braced emplacements and can't stop, but not everyone is like that.
