OKW has the same infantry design as soviets, meaning you get your AI power from elite infantry, not your mainline. They won't do this because they don't want players spamming volks, simple as that.

hey good idea. i agree that the shreck s redundant. okw has the raketen and other nice tanks already. However, what are we going to do with the Sturmpio squad? They have MP44s already.

Remove Shreck from volks, give them PzFaust, change vet1 to self heal and all is well.

I'd like to see 3 MP 40's with a damage curve akin to the Conscript PPSh. Then with Special Operations Doctrine they could get 2 or 3 StG 44 when Obers get theirs.


whats the deal with mp44? if they are like in vcoh were they deal 0 dmg while moving. you could counter mp44 blobs by just kiting them because they need to stand still to deal any dmg

Technically CoH1 MP 44's has increased DPS while moving due to low accuracy penalty with an increased burst modifier that pushed it over.

Sturms need to be the killers. Now how that should be done, is whats up for debate. Giving volks and sturms MP44 is silly and improbable from a balance and design standpoint.

Maybe make Sturm received accuracy a bit "better"? give them the incendiary nade,and the volks still get a steilhandgRANATE??
Make their vet better too......

But OKW Can have their all automatic weapon army when USF gets B17 carpet bombing runs. In other words,never

hm, need to check that out. i was 100% sure you did almost 0 dmg while charging with volks and the dps always kicked in as soon as you stopped. going thru some youtube clips now

Volks had MP 40, MP 44's were used by Knights Cross, Stormtroopers, and Panzer Elite. Not sure about the differences exactly, but at least the Panzer Elite version gave you higher DPS while moving.

Sturmpio already serves the role of early unit close assault troop. If you give mp44 to Volks, you make Sturmpio completely superfluous. Raketen is in base building already. That is your early AT. Keep in mind you can camo it, garrison it, and retreat it. It's a really good unit, just requires some measure of positioning.


sturmpios are the okw's primary repair unit and minsweeper. Giving volks mp44 isn't going to change that.

volks are fine, no need for the changes, problem is with sturmpios, they dont have the durability to stay in the field for very long.

soviets can merge conscripts with elite infantry to keep them healthy while okw cant, but u cant just give them the same ability, that will be too insane.

the simplest way is to nerf sturmpio's dps at all ranges so they dont do rapeface dmg, drop their cost to 280 and adjust reinforce cost appropriately, so its easier for okw to field more sturmpios on field for some CQC power.

Volks just look stupid. A bolt action only unit with incendiary grenades and panzerschrecks on a unit that was known to use a high volume of automatic weapons. Lelic just screwed up down the line and just said fuck it, volks get panzershrecks and bolt actions. No attempt at trying to design this unit with even a shred of authenticity.

Give volksgrenadiers automatic weaponry and a faust. Put the panzershreck on an anti-tank infantry squad built from the medic HQ. Move incendiary to sturms and regular grenade to sturms. There fixed. But lelic.

Why not make the units that come out of Mech Reg not so putrid, or at least more cost effective... 2/3rd's OKW's unit roster is worth as much as a bag of beans.

To all you guys who think I am trying to change them into fussies: I speak about 2 G43s not 4 as in fussies' case.

All in all, they need some kind of buff, done in the most intelligent way, iin such way that spamming them to be non attractive. P.S. Eventually I really don't understand what's so wrong in spamming volks if we think that spamming rifles is okay....

Pfussies get three, which are weaker then gren g43 on rifle to rifle basis but still stronger as a bundle.
