The su-85 is curently in a bad spot, It is out classed by the su-76. I think the Unit needs some love, espacailly in scaling since it comes out pretty late. What do you guys think?

Nothing wrong with it. of course its not the tools for noobs you need to properly support and scout ahead.

That's probably a problem with the SU-76 being too good for cost.

Disagree. SU-85 is a good unit doing what it is supposed to do.

Yup, the issue is Su76 over performing for the cost.

Su85 is a rapid, spammable TD with default maphack ability.

Can reliably penetrate Tiger at vet 0 :foreveralone:

Meanwhile su85 is just lackluster. No reason to choose it when you can have 3 su76s by the time you can get one su85

Overpriced and late T4 is the problem.

The SU85 could use a bit more frontal armor but otherwise it's in a pretty good spot.

It's not that bad. Could use a bit more rotation speed, but otherwise good.

The problem is that the SU-76 does the same thing for a much cheaper cost while having utility vs infantry. Making the SU-85 unnecessary.

Su76 is really good for timing and performance. Not "OP" but does it job perfectly.

On the other hand, Su85 is fine but needs a better vet1 ability. See for example JPIV, which is fine unit but shines because of BS cloaking capabilities.

The SU-76 scales way too well. It's supposed to be a light tank destroyer, but performs as well as the medium tank destroyers. It should be able to take on P4s, but should start suffering vs Panthers and Tigers.

The result I have been seeing is soviet players spamming them well into the late game which is ridiculous. Imagine if axis players were able spam Pumas and destroy IS-2s, that's pretty much what it's like. If soviet players want something to counter panthers and tigers they should be relying on SU-85s not su-76s.

The SU-76 is definitely overperforming with vet vs vehicles and in the AI department with the free low CD barrage.

Anyone who uses an SU-85 knows how vulnerable and clumsy it is. SU-76 is not overperforming, it is the definition of a good TD and SU-85 needs to be brought in line. Make it more accurate, give it better frontal armor, and increase its rotation. Make it an Allied JPIV without the camo.

SU-85 is the only TD left with Far Sight, which is a big plus to it.

However as stated by others, SU-76 performs good enough that you'll never really need an SU-85

If you can get them to Vet 2 / 3 they become like machine guns and are really useful. They are however super clumsy and its easy to lose, especially when you compare it to how survivable the Jagdpanzer 4 is.

SU-76 is decent but in late game they die very fast due to the HP and lack of armour.
