OKW Tech Cost Ideas

It's inevitable. All factions have their teching delayed now , even the brits which have been just released. Suggestions:
  • Tier 2 (BGHQ): From 200MP/40Fuel to 300MP/50Fuel(Forward point upgrade cost changed to 150MP/90muni)
  • Tier 3 (MechHQ):From 200MP/40Fuel to 300MP/35Fuel
  • Tier 4 (FlakHQ): From 200MP/80Fuel to 280MP/120Fuel

Another beautiful forum warrior in the making here boys. Don't you think tire 3 should also cost 3000 manpower? Because I mean, lets be honest, if it didn't there would be no reason to go tire 2.

as for the suggestions themselves:

i'm not sure t1 needs to be anymore expensive, fuel wise, but i do like the idea of making t2 less expensive so you can actually afford to build vehicles. i'm also very sure they're not going to make the upgrade cost mun as that would really hurt OKW's presence early game. i've got mixed feelings about the t3 suggestion.

in general i just think that OKW (and USF) tech was really badly designed. USF doesn't have enough initial units and OKW's fuel reduction means that they have a hard time building half their units.

Sov: 195 (80)
Ost: 190 (125)
USF: 180 (110)
UKF: 145 (110)
OKW: 120 (135)
OKW: 180 (202) (equivalent with penalty)

This is assuming you skip T1 as Sov / USF, do not get any upgrades, or vehicles.

This is assuming you skip the cheaper tier as Sov / USF / OKW, do not get any upgrades, or vehicles.

OKW's pricing isn't bad, with your proposal OKW will be 155 - 170, which is equivalent to 232 - 255. That's too much. OKW's fuel penalty isn't meant to cripple their teching, it's meant to limit their armour output. They can get tech up and bring out a vehicle, but replacing lost vehicles is where they hurt.

And this is why it´s a "fail" to make such a comparison. You need those upgrades to remain competitive and don't bleed mp. You also have to account the starting resources (fuelwise). In that way, you only need 80f as OKW to get the FlakHQ.

"If you are talking about tech RUSH, we just take into account the quickest fuelwise way to get them. This means ignoring, ambulance, nades, bar/zook, AT nades, molotov, T2 OH. Medic (bunker and SU) doesn't have fuel cost attach to them so you discard them on the tech race.

IF you want to put on balance all factions on how much they have to realistically pay then consider:
USF: nades/Bar-Zook + ambulance + LT/CPT + Major
OH: T1 + BP1 + T2 + Medic bunker + BP2 + T3
SU: T1/T2 + Medics + T3 + T4 + Molotov/AT nade "

This is a "normal" approach into getting a medium vehicle. Thing is, there's other ways to play the game than just getting a medium.

SU:
-T4 is not a must. Heavy T3 or T3 into IS2/ISU. You can also play Shermans.
-Molos are not bad now, even though they are still skipable. Same with AT nades (you can rely on Guards as soft AT)
OH:
-Puma/Command tank/Stug-E Tiger is a reality. T2 into T4 is also valid in some cases.
USF:
-I've seen more and more LT + CPT into late Major. Long are gone the days of M20 into M4 rush. Who would had thought that Stuart would be meta.
-Armor is a valid choice to skip major.
OKW:
-FlakHQ is not a must and you can just rely on playing with Medic + Mech HQs. You can eventually get one when you need to protect a flank and you can spare the fuel.

If you divide the OKW teching income by it's fuel penalty it makes a lot more sense. 40/.66=60, 80/.66=121.

I don't think 3000 mp is enough for T2, I think it should be be 5000 IMO.
Also, tire 3 should cost more tires. Otherwise, tire companies won't be happy about how much they make this year.

There is fuel and ammo penalty 66/100 and 80/100 so how anyone came on the idea to increase the teching costs? I mean the fuel penalty is 66% of the income as for other factions. So that means from the point of the 66% the other reseive 50% more fuel. :wave:

So after getting this the teching cost is already like:

T1 60 fuel
T2 60 fuel
T3 120 fuel

I don't want to be offensive but can now everyone who does not know the game be quite? :thumb:
