I think this is the 222 MG bug we're talking about back in the day. Not sure if it still exists since the 221/2 aren't that great while chasing:

Great at showcasing how worthless the 222s firepower is. Buff damage, buff armor, increase price to like 35 fuel.

Ost don't need another pz2. Damage and armor is good for this unit because it's cheap.

I think we're misunderstanding. The 221 and 222 have distinct differences in the overall shape of the body. Most notably the thinning back and the angles on the sides.


The car is a model from CoH1, back then Relic didn't care so much about authenticity. What likely happened was the designer accidentally used a mix of 221 and 222 photographs for reference, rather than just one type. They also have the size wrong, it should be closer to the size of the US Ambulance, but in-game is the size of an M5 Stuart.

I hope this post clears up the confusion. :)

That's weird, it looks like the MG just stops firing when the 2cm cannon is firing. This is interesting. Maybe it is a bug.

IMO one of the problems with this unit is that ultimately the 221 is just a undergunned version of 222, it doesn't possess anything else that makes 221 some role that is advantageous to 222.

At least with Ostwind it has the benefit of better armour.

And utterly useless. it doesnt do anything except dealing with m3 spam. but beyond that it has no use and i rather buy a pak.

Yeah, the conundrum with the 222 is that the Light Vehicle focus shifted into beefier light vehicles like the M5 Stuart, M15 AAHT, and Soviet T3, but abandoned lighter vehicles like the M3 Scout Car, WC 51 Truck, M20 Utility Car, and SdKfz 222. The main draw of the M3 and WC 51 was that they could be fielded before any vehicle counters, but they have no scaling. The M20 relied on the same, but since Ostheer and Captain tier was buffed, it's obsolete. The 222 largely existed as a counter-balance to the M20, and it has become rather underwhelming as a result.

Thanks for the info. I never thought the real life 221/222 are that small in size. This effects both authenticity and game play.

I think it does not fire from mg because they cannot fix the bug somewhat else (before when it get main gun crit lil mg stoped firing not 2 mm canon - so they removed lil mg becuase its easier than program 2mm canon as main gun )

Also if we buff this lil car even more then liehtenaut will be completely pointless

Cant see 222 being usefull now, maybe good for sniper chasing, otherwise a weak vehicle which does not survive long

Would like to point out that the old Armoured Car was pretty useless against light vehicles. CoH2 version is much better against vehicles. So, again, time for a penetration nerf?
