Salvaging only yields 5 fuel (+ 15MU with scavenger doctrine).

You sure?

It's a vehicle not a weapon

Guard motor.Especially in high teamgames, lol.Don't even bother playing as axis.

Guard motor will not, and in my opinion has not, been such a big deal in big team games. The doctrine is only OP in small games like 1v1 and maybe 2v2.

For big team games as axis vs guard motor its going to be:
- OKW makes stuka to counter heavy mortars
- Ostheer makes tiger+Stug3 Gs to counter T34/85 spam
- Obers/lmg grens to counter guards

Stug3 Gs will be excellent to counter T34/85 spam. The Fuel wise, you can almost get 3 Stug Gs for 2 T34/85s. The Stug3 Gs TWP ability makes sure T34/85s can't get away, making it very hard for Soviet players to mass up their medium armor.

ISU152 has always been a better choice over Guards motor in big team games, with the improved stug3 G and the nerfed 120mm, it will be even more of a no-brainer which one to pick.

my next patch predictions will be

buff meta,
nurf non meta,
and take away more strategic diversity as they did last patch (one heavy tank is taking away strategic diversity and never had that much of an impact in 4v4)

Massed medium armor is also debatably the strength of the USF-Wolverines, Jacksons, HE Shermans, and HMCs are debatably best in class for each price bracket, and all can self repair and have radio net. If medium armor spam becomes Ostheer meta then this patch will be a hell of a time.

Only the sherman has radio net. None of the other tanks have it or profit from it. The HMC doesn't trigger the radio net on the sherman since it is a light vehicle.

Even so, 200 MP for 15 Fuel is not a good deal. But yeah, you are only going to get 5 fuel from blown up HT so you would never do this. Will make IR HT basically no brainer in everything from 2v2+ up.

Guards are good, but since they cannot target weapons first MG's are going to eat them up. With suppression bonuses now added won't it just mean we see lots of MG's to stop Guards followed by Stug's? The 120 can hit MG's but not as lethally as before so they shouldn't be able to just push them off the field (like they do now).

I am not convinced we know what we are going to see in the patch. Guards motor may be quite good initially but settle out once good counters are found. You will know he chose this long before He gets the 85's and now the German snipe cannot die to single 120 shot.

By the time he has 10 cp's you should be wrecking his infantry with Stugs and MG's and have vet 1 already on the Stugs. T34's vs TWP is pretty ugly even now, but with near 100% penetration and nice damage, gonna be punishing. You could, depending on how well you are bleeding him, consider going to T3 quickly and picking up T2 later. You aren't going to get PG's anyway, AC is likely out, HT is only marginally more useful than a bunker, and Pak is not necessary since he will avoid tech and build at most scout cars. At that point you need only keep a gren around an MG and he would be very hard pressed to use SC aggressively. Skipping T2 would open up T3 faster, which you could exploit with Stugs, in case he decided to give up fast 85's and get some armor out. Or if you think they are never going to tech be extremely mean and get an Ostwind. Doesn't matter if he buttons or not, he is going to pay for damage to it with MP.

Easy now...we have not played under this patch. Literally no one has, even alpha testers did not play with this exact patch.

IR halftrack coulda been reworked. But whatever. 200 mp for a unit that gives a large cone of vision is a little odd.

To be fair it doesn't do anything else...
Can't shoot, can't reinforce, can't heal...
And it does take up a decent amount of pop-cap.

My guess would be that we will be seeing more of the Soviet commander that has both the 34-85s and IS-2, atleast in 2v2 and above.

USF's AT gun will finally be useful since it will actually be shooting at it's intended target: medium tanks. One of the reason's I'm not really worried about the StuG III tbh, Captain will finally be worth it.

I was not in the alpha (didnt even apply for it) but looking at the patch notes and considering what I ve seen so far it seems this patch might end up doing the exact opposite of what it is supposed to do-making more strategies viable.
It is also disappointing that they didnt seem to bother about game breaking bugs that still liter the game, like mgs getting hung up trying to retreat, or ISU152 shooting constantly the ground when there is any ground elevation...Other people have mentioned this, there are lots of other really good games already out or coming soon and Relic is usually too little too late.

No Axis will play through Tigers, Ace TIgers and KT because they wipe.

Except you can't get more than 1 Tiger and the KT can be dealt with using Jacksons now since it's pen buff and the KT's armor reduction.

I've always found that the USF AT guns main weakness was not the penetration (special rounds fixed that), but the fact that it is only a 4 man squad. 4 men squads (that decrew after 3 model losses) at just extremely vulnerable to axis lmg DPS, snipers, and rapid fire mortars.

A lot of people fail to make use of it's very good arc and sight by using it like a ZiS gun in CQC. But yeah ultimately the biggest downfall of it is it's 4 man squad. Would be nice to see all USF weapon teams get bumped up to 5 men no?
