I think KV-8 needs a bit of a damage buff, it has a very difficult time killing blobs.

KV-8 is fine as it is (or could use slight dmg boost as many of you said) and I really like using it - it's quite tough and it that can be deadly if used properly. Just remember it's a specialist unit - don't expect it to dominate the battlefield on its own.

In 4v4 I mostly see it used as a source of XP for shreck blobs.

If anything needs a change about KV-8 it is the armor up to KV-1 level, so it doesn't melt against the units its supposed to hardcounter.

Exactly. Buff frontal armour so these Shreks bounce of it more often. Rear one leave as it is right now. Same goes for its HP pool.

Oh man, can you imagine how useless the Crocodile would be, given the current state of handheld AT?

It´s not like there is a huge gap between their performance. But yeah I guess it might be little more durable. Offensive capabilities though...

the KV-8's dps can't be increased without becoming bullshit again but increasing the AoE would make it better against blobs without increasing the dps.

Blobs were mentioned 10 times in this thread, maybe blobbing is the problem and not the KV-8?

Nah blobbing can't be the problem, because blobs are easily countered™.

Well, you would think a unit like KV-8 would be a nice blob counter - alas, its poor armour and the shrecks' crazy efficiency kinda mess things up.

Well you can't expect a 390MP/145F unit to counter 940MP/360MU by itself, because the blob costs a lot more™.

It's not good for charging into hordes, but aside from a T-70 it's a squad wiping machine on retreat. Maybe a slight price decrease or durability increase, but that's about it.

I don't want the old days where it killed squads in 2-3 seconds and that's not including flame crits.

schrecks are more likely to be the problem than kv8 itself. its armour cannot resist schreck hits and neither does it have the hp to tank them nor it has the dps/speed to shoot and scoot.

reducing schreck efficiency at range, buff rakenten to compensate, kv8 and other medium tanks will suddenly shine.

I never use it anymore. I don't like getting tanks that have no AT capability as any faction, honestly, but the real nail in the coffin for this unit is (the mega nerfs it got long ago aside) shrek blobs. You just can't risk running your tanks up to them. At least with other tanks, you can kind of stay out of range. I'm sure it has a place, but I sure don't like using such a risky unit, even if it can occasionally pay off.

Though that seemingly makes sense, I don't buy into that school of thought.

The kv8's entire purpose in life is anti infantry. I would like to see a small buff to it's armor to help it bounce a few more shrecks

I'm not being serious, I'm parodying the "Machine Guns shouldn't counter blobs because blobs cost more" line of thinking that comes into every 'buff MG' or 'nerf blobs' thread.

KV8 is fine I think.

You have to be careful now to not overextend it, but if it is in the correct position at the right time it can really push Axis around. KV8 just needs a lot more vision support than it used to, which is a good thing.

Actually took the time to try out the kv8. It works alright. But honestly in every situation, except for killing OKW trucks, id rather have a kv-1.
