Realistic symbols/flags.

Am I the only one who thinks having the true symbols and flags used in this game would be a good idea? Why not use the nazi Germany flag for captured points when playing as the Germans? or have things like the swastika on tanks. The Germans literally covered everything with their symbols. It was a way of showing pride for themselves and it also helped put fear into the enemy at times. They were big on that and I think small things like this do add to a game.

In my honest opinion I think relic kind of cheaped out on that and the uniforms.

I know, it would offend a lot of people. But half the time you are going to offend someone anyway. You can't always keep everyone happy. They could add all of those flags and symbols in and have an opinion to censor it out in game if you don't like that kind of thing in your games. We see it in our movies all the time, it's all over the internet. Having a realistic flag or symbol in your game doesn't make you a nazi. Movies do it, so I really don't see why this game shouldn't.

I know, as I stated before a lot of people might be offended but that's why you'd add in a censor option in the game, so it would look just as it does now, but for people who are looking for it could have the option of not censoring it. Actually portraying a country correctly in a game is important in my opinion.

They won't ever do this because that would break the law in some countries where the game is sold (for example in Germany). Some games like Silent Hunter V had those symbols at the beginning but those were removed when it started to couse problems.

On the other hand with mod support that we have now you can do it yourself or find appropriate mod on steam.

I think thats a good idea for a realistic mod.
I dont Know if model skins are free to modificate, but i prefare realistic models and stuff,too.
In vCoh There are some skinpacks and mods that Use that realistic flags and models and stuff on the Tanks, realistic camouflage would be awesome,too.
Anybody knows if this things able to mod?

I personally agree. Political correctness is the reason for why units, flags and etc are heavily changed/censored; it's a poison that affects both the host and the user and I hope one day it will be gone forever. Another interesting note is that here in Canada, the US and the UK(Where CoH sells most of its copies), it's not illegal to display Nazi or Soviet symbols but developers still choose to censor certain images.

Yes, I don't just mean for the German side. that was an example. I meant for all, Russian and Americans, as well as any new country they might add in the future. The American flag, and as you said the Hammer and Sickle.

In vCOH you can free choose ure skins and flags,visional stuff and can still play Multiplayer. Would be great this works for COH2 too. Its another feeling play without that Bad uniforms and skins like now.

It's western bias imo. Nazi Germany rose in West Europe, and it conquered West Europe, and it committed atrocities in West Europe. The West was severely affected and was afraid of it ever happening again. As for the Soviets, they rose in the East, conquered the East, and committed atrocities in the East. But since it was in the East and they were on our side in the war, we don't consider them to be as bad. It's also the fact that Germany's atrocities were brutal ethnic cleansing, while Russia's were based more on corruption and political repression, and we consider murder based on heritage slightly worse than other forms.

I wouldn't mind mods that add Swastikas, but I think Relic as a company should keep their distance.
