Second of all: Symbolism is all too real. The issue is not of political correctness, but of human nature. The creation, recognition, and use of symbols in human communication is fundamental. It's called semiotics, and it has to do with "meaning making."
There are real laws in place, and there are real people whose families, lives, and well being were harmed by Nazi Germany. Should they be marginalized in the name of "realism" or "anti-political correctness"?
Your tone deafness is immediately apparent because you have named yourself after the SS, a wing of the Nazi party responsible for the mass murder of millions of people. If you enjoy historical references to actual army units, there are many you could have chosen without associating yourself with psychopathic murders. Was every SS member a murder? No, but you are not doing yourself or the world any good by naming yourself in such a way.
COH2 is an arcade game, not a simulator, and not a historical account of the war. You should tread lightly when asking for Nazi party imagery to be used in a game, especially with its popularity in both Germany and Russia. Two countries who know better than most about the atrocities committed (BY BOTH SIDES) and the effect they have on the people who make up their communities.

Yes, those are what I am talking about. When you make a forward HQ and the 4 flags around it just look silly, for all sides. The blue and red flags I think should be changed to what the countries flag was at the time. and you could add a blue or red glow to it. |

You need to read more. I'm talking about all countries getting more realistic flags. Not just Germany but Russia and the USA. If Germany stays the same or changes I don't care. it was an idea I had that I thought I'd share with a few examples so get down off your high horse. |

Proper uniforms and such is cool with me, symbols and everything else is fine as it is.
I am simply looking for feed-back on this idea. I'm not trying to set it in stone. That is why I came here to see what other peoples views are on this. I mean no disrespect to anyone or any country.
to your first comment: My name here is this due to the fact I started play as the Germans. My name in game changes from which side I play as. I always use a realistic division for Russia, Germany and the Americans. My virtual name online does not describe me as a person. I am not a nazi. I am Canadian and when it comes to the troops who lost their lives fighting against them my heart will always go out to them.

they did remove because some people find it "offensive" and the symbol is banned in some countries.
But hey! Since an Hammer and Sickle is not "offensive" why not add all the symbols i guess. just my opinion

Am I the only one who thinks having the true symbols and flags used in this game would be a good idea? Why not use the nazi Germany flag for captured points when playing as the Germans? or have things like the swastika on tanks. The Germans literally covered everything with their symbols. It was a way of showing pride for themselves and it also helped put fear into the enemy at times. They were big on that and I think small things like this do add to a game.
In my honest opinion I think relic kind of cheaped out on that and the uniforms.
I know, it would offend a lot of people. But half the time you are going to offend someone anyway. You can't always keep everyone happy. They could add all of those flags and symbols in and have an opinion to censor it out in game if you don't like that kind of thing in your games. We see it in our movies all the time, it's all over the internet. Having a realistic flag or symbol in your game doesn't make you a nazi. Movies do it, so I really don't see why this game shouldn't.
I know, as I stated before a lot of people might be offended but that's why you'd add in a censor option in the game, so it would look just as it does now, but for people who are looking for it could have the option of not censoring it. Actually portraying a country correctly in a game is important in my opinion.
