Well, I'll give it to the guy, he was dedicated to his Su-76s. Watching that Tiger get swarmed by seven Su-76s is easily one of the funniest things I've seen in CoH2.

Lol, the SU76 is probably the most useless unit in the game. You lost to a complete lack of coordination. At some point in the game there were at least 2 Tigers and 2 Panthers, and he had 6 SU76s. Those SU76s wouldnt have stood a chance if you used all of your your tanks at the same time (although 2 Panthers would have probably been enough).

They aren't that bad, in numbers they have very high squad wipe potential, don't have to come into at gun, faust and shreck range to rape infantry (so they are only endangered by tanks and td's), and also are quite adequate against p4's and pumas. Mark target, mines and guards button are a must have with this strat ofc. Cover them with a zis late game and they can defend against panthers and tigers too. I liked them much more when they had 55 fuel cost though...

I've had some successes with SU-76M spams of 3 units or so. But their weaknesses outweigh their strengths by a long shot.

Can't you just rush them with heavy tanks? They are a terrible unit. What about those heavy stuka strafes, do they do any damage to armour? (the 37mm)

I had an Ostheer teammate who was somehow struggling with them. I came with my panther and destroyed 3, and left with little damage inflicted. The panther does the job easy.

this. they have abysmal penetration with whopping 120 damage. on top of that, have 320hp, two shot kill, amount of health. only thing it has going for is 60 range and he barrage.
also the complete lack of turret makes chasing hard if the opponent tank makes turns. the su76 has to chase, turn, chase turn.

They have very good rate of fire though, about twice that of t34-76, about 20% better than shtug. And their penetration is also about the same as t34-76, 20 less than shtug. Not that bad imo.
P.S. Decided to compare their effectiveness against tiger to t34.
So dps per fuel for su-76 against tiger's front at max distance:
(90/300)*(120/3.4)/70=0.151
Now dps per fuel for t34-76 against tiger's rear point blank
(120/180)*(160/6.2)/100=0.172
Didn't account for aim time, post firing aim time etc, cause i don't know how they work but i think it shouldn't change much. So su-76 are definitely not that bad even against tigers.
