Stuka isn't a no brainer unit, you spend 100 fuel on an artillery piece knowing full well you're severely setting yourself back in the AT department. If you can't take out his Stuka with your tanks, then you're either bad or were already losing.

For some perspective, the Stuka is more expensive than a T-34/76 (due to OKW's resource penalty). You should easily have more armour than he has considering he made a Stuka and now a Jagdpanzer or Panther.

okay, after some extensive testing, i've come to the conclusion that the kv-8 is more or less fine.

Maybe a cost decrease to 125 or 120 fuel, that's it really.

I've played OST in 1v1 and 2v2 before WF and whenever I came across the KV-8, yeah it would make me have to retreat my inf units (note I would do this before losing a unit). Then I would come forward with my p4 and pak supported by inf and then deal with the KV-8, a single crew stun does marvels (no point trying to get close to the thing with a gren squad to faust).

Back to the point of my previous post, KV-8 = anti- infantry and poor anti-tank. I found it funny that everything he was saying you could just swap in KV-8 and it would still apply. What exactly in my post were you disagreeing with?

Maybe the diffrence between the 2 units is that one has a fuckton of armor and health, and the other one gets oneshottet by everything? Maybe its because the KV8 destroyed every infantry that came near it in a matter of seconds, while the Stuka has 120 seconds cooldown between barrages, which leads to a situatin where the KV8 synergises greatly with own infantry and Zis guns, because to take out the Zis, normally the enemy would use infantry, which was not duable?

Maybe its because you can't compare the Stuka and the KV8 because NO they don't occupy exactly the same role of "anti-blobbing". (Did I already mention that the KV8 is NOT a "anti-blobbing" unit? It just destroyed infantry and had much health, it had NOTHING that made it better against blobbs. If you want to buff its "anti-blobbing" it should get a way bigger AOE.)

This time Soviets can't even kill squads cause this is "too OP" for german_sided_guys. But they still able to one-shot allies squads with many tools - offmaps, stukas and so on. Good job.

You say that like soviets can't also squadwipe with offmaps, arty, zis barrage, and such. Hell, before WFA the soviet mines were squad wiping everything they touched.

Actually, soviets can't squadwipe anything more durable then sniper with their offmaps.

Lack of offmaps that do BOOM and are not slow plane is the reason of that.

In other news, what is the opinion on Sturmtigers?

With all the complaining about KV-8 squadwipes I would like to know what those same people think about the Sturmtiger.

Sturmtiger facts compared to KV-8:
+ 1 shots squads from decent range, KV-8 range is shorter.
+ 1 shots medium tanks, KV-8 can scratch light armor, slowly.
- Long reload, can wipe one squad, fire a grenade and then needs to go out of combat. KV-8 can stay in combat.

I heard a lot of crying about a tank that has zero anti armor ability. If you had no paks or german armor by he time a late doctrine specific anti infantry tank rolled out you are a fucking retard and should lose. So many little kids watering down the german factions in coh2. A fucking stug could kill a kv8 how the fuck can you not even field a stug and a pak to counter it.

Where are your mines? Where is your tiger, you panther, you elephant, your p4, your pack 43, you pak, your stug. If you don't have any of these by the time the kv8 comes out you already lost the game. You build a infantry only army and cry about a late game doctrine specific anti infantry tank that cost a shit ton of resources.

Nerf it fine, but seriously Germans crying about not being able to counter it with out at guns and armor. Pathetic. Wehrmacht players used to have a pair of balls. Just call of duty pussies flooding a once proud faction. Your still going to be useless sack of shit player if you can't build an at gun and at least a fucking stug in a match.

Just a fucking joke....

Let's take a look at the history of the KV8 adjustments.

KV-8
Health increased from 640 to 960
Armor decreased from 360 front/225 rear to 240 front/120 rear
Cost from 440mp/120 fuel to 360mp/135 fuel

KV-8 population from 9 to 14

KV-8 Specialist (KV-8) from +7% damage and +10% experience to +10% experience

The KV-8 has seen its damage profile adjusted such that it no longer front loads the majority of its damage over a 10 second period. This will result in more of a reaction period for players under fire. The overall DPS of the KV-8 was also reduced from 18 to 15 damage per second. Other abilities have had their cost adjusted to better reflect their value in game.

KV-8
Damage from 40 to 27
Ready aim time from 1.5s to 0.75s
Reload form 5s to 3s


KV-8
Veterancy 2
-25% Reload
+35% Turret Rotation
+20% Max Speed

Veterancy 3
+20% Rotation
+35% Burst Duration
+5 Range (from 25 to 30)
+20% Acceleration

KV8 increased from 8 to 9

The KV-8 saw a significant decrease in its health to better align its performance to cost.
Rear armor from 120 to 145
Health from 960 to 720

KV-8 Heavy Flamethrower Tank
Health increase from 720 to 800
Price increase from 360 / 135 to 390 / 145

Flamethrower damage reduced from 27 to 16

Over all change to KV8 since release is 40 to 16 damage (nerf), health from 640 to 800 (buff), 360 front/225 rear armor to 240 front/145 rear (nerf), price increase 360/135 to 390/145 (nerf)

Price needs to come down. The 120MM mortar shares a similar story.

Shock Rifle Front lines in the lineup. Shock Troops spotted...lots of Infantry on the field...hmmmm I wonder if a KV8 is a possibility? Perhaps I should build my new and improved P4? NAHHH I SHOULDNT HAVE TO MY SHREK BLOB SHOULD DO THE WORK!!!....rage quit...

Common sense. When I play OKW if I suspect flak half track I prepare its counter...seems legit.

It's still a very good unit, I used it today and it still gets the job done pretty well. Atleast the germans won't lose squads when they see it.
