I've played like 30 1v1 matches (not as much as some of you, I know), and I've yet to come even close to making a Tiger, even when I go T2 first and start converting to fuel asap. Of course you can't just go straight tiger, and if you make any armor at all it sets you so far back fuel wise it would take a 1h+ match to have a tiger out.

I just find it stupid that the tank is so far out of reach when all you can hope to get in a "normal" match is a half track and MAYBE a medium tank.

The King Tiger is only viable in long games. It cost 300 fuel (including T4) which is 450 fuel adjusted for OKW's penalty.

I know, that is what I was trying to convey.. but the "long game" is getting pretty ridiculous at least when it comes to 1v1. I was never even close to getting it and I'm sure many of you haven't either.

3 of my 10 games so far, but in every game I had more sectors than my enemy. Rak+JPzIV+2 Volks to fend off enemy vehicles. But yeah in equal matches it's damn hard to get one out.

You can make fuel as OKW by salvaging things (sometimes a surprising amount of things) and converting munition though, so it is still very expensive but a bit less so.

Common in team games. If you want to build one go play 3v3 or 4v4. You will get to build one.

That's not really good justification. So people who play 1v1 are never supposed to see one?

It is not a justification you asked if anyone had built one.

To answer your question unless you plan on playing an extremely long 1v1 then no you will not see one.

I've played about 1v1 30 games as USF so far and I've versed the King Tiger about 3 times. It is possible to get the King Tiger, however you not post-pone getting armour earlier for AI or AT purposes. Typically, if you can take out a couple of your opponents armour units without losing your own really increases the prospects of getting a KT out. Unit preservation is the key!

In 1v1 its near impossible to get it on a even game, try team games.

I've managed to get one out twice. Once I had complete map domination and the other game I lost on VP's shortly after it arrived.

Basically, it's not going to be a game changer unit (unfortunately)

I suck at this game and play team games only, but I have been trying it out in all of my games and I don't like it.

I wanted to see if anyone else agrees. I find it not all that durable and being so much slower than the panther I am thinking I would rather have a couple of them out instead.

For example, if you push with it and you get caught in a bad position it is too hard to escape. While with a panther it is much easier to run away.

Thoughts?

I like it, but then I don't build anything else that costs fuel...

I built once in 2v2. But soviets and americans had shit tons of is2 and shermans so it didn't do well with that movement speed.

It'd be better if the Tiger II (and Sturmtiger, Jagdtiger) were more like the Tiger Ace. A hefty but attainable price, with an extremely harsh fuel tax afterward. Maybe even stopping fuel production completely, with the exception of the resource conversion.

They showed these units off as OKW's end game, but in actual competitive game they're completely unattainable. I feel like just getting a single Panther is a major accomplishment.
