Well out of the things Affe listed I want at least to see the Hummel as a counterpart to the M7 Priest :)

I like more units as well, but many are redundant. eg. The Marder III is a POS compared to a stug.

I would like to see hummel/wespe for Germans, Pershing for USA, and KV-85 for Soviets, though.

Great! That means more OKW commanders with Ostwind call ins in the future.

Cant wait to try the next Ostwind commander out for OKW.

Half of these are just remodels or modifications of things that already exist, though.

+1, jagdpanther is also in the game

It's not, you're getting it mixed up with the Jagdpanzer IV.

This is a Jagdpanther:

I want a Scorched Earth Doctrine

Booby Traps, S-Mine Fields (good ones please), Hummel, Munition-Halftrack (reduced cooldown etc) and also scorch points. Stuff like that!

I just want more ones :)

Also i miss old Stormtroopers with camouflage, Rangers (lead the way!) Where is the Wirbelwind, Jagdpanther, Hetzer, Flak 88, Butterfly Bombs for Luftwaffen-Commander from Ostheer.

There is still so much possible!

My gripe is a unit that only 40 some of them were produced in the entire war has been present in every German faction aside from PE to date. P4s fine they were an MBT of German Army. Ostwind? Sorry no. I don't want to see recycled assets for a "new" faction. I was already dissapointed enough when the Ostwind was in the Ostheer faction. Just give us the wirble, or a Panzer 3 ffs.

I doubt most people in this thread have tried these commanders, so most of the complaining about the OKW commanders seems to be because some units are taken from the Wehrmacht army instead of being new and shiny. Here's why I think these commanders are unique.

The Fortifications doctrine gives OKW powerful defensive options that they don't have naturally. The craziest feature, though, is zeroing artillery. This is the single most powerful nuke in the game imo. Use zeroing artillery (or, god forbid, have it used against you!) and then try to come back and say it isn't a valuable doctrine.

The scavenger doctrine may or may not have shifted in power as OKW game mechanics changed, so i'm not sure about its overall power. Jaeger infantry are pretty fun units though. They have crazy range and speed. You can use them alone for fast harassing or in pairs to kite enemies. The theme of this doctrine is scavenging for more resources, so having the ostwind as a normally unused and repurposed vehicle from the eastern front seems cool to me, but that's my opinion and I enjoy thematic style over historical accuracy in my video games.

To be honest i've never used Elite Armored Doctrine but in the context of the OKW army the p4s, especially since they're vetted up to 2 or higher for great armor values, can be quite powerful, especially when enhanced by all the doctrinal abilities. And you get TWO of them, which is great. Considering the fragility of american armor and the insignificance of bazookas once any decent armor value is involved I can see these giving a force of 2 or 3 american tanks a run for their money, tank destroyer or not.

Personally I've been absolutely blown away by the quality and diversity in WFA's commanders for both new armies. After playing with almost every one I've found that each one has its own flavor and strengths in the right context and none of them seem objectively inferior or OP. They offer unique tactical options and builds, a seemingly balanced (its early, I know) playing field, and a way to tailor strategies to a personal style or flavor.

You're complaining about "copy and paste" of units when these units fill important niches that OKW are otherwise lacking. If you want copy and paste, look at the relatively large volume of boring and inferior doctrines from the base armies, particularly the ToW and launch dlc commanders.

Anyway sorry, wall of text above. I don't mean to say any other opinions are wrong. I guess I just feel differently, perhaps because I see plenty of strategic variety in them, which I personally like over "ooo X unit is cool even though it's functionally a reskinned Y."

Played them in the Aplpha and they were great. Still tanks, still vulnerable but great. The Spoils system was much higher in the Alpha - guess to test things out. Here, it seems to be taking longer but I guess I'm ok with that.

It makes sense to me. No one is complaining about the Ostheer getting a puma in a doctrine are they?

As it is, there are enough units that I often find myself thinking "what is that?". And more unique units just means more balancing.

After a week, things won't be new anymore regardless. What matters is the potential variation in strategy.

In a bunker in Berlin:

Ami Polizei Funk: "Good Lord, Ipkai! You never told me about these other Heer tanks! What the Hell is going on?"

Ipkai (smirking): "Well, it's easy really. If we take Tank Hunter units, for example, then we discover that...."

APF (strenuously):"NO,Ipkai! If there is no Shermie there, I am not interested"

Ipkai (softly): "Look Ami! You cannot play all 4 armies with reference to Shermans"

Ami (belligerently): "You wanna bet, Ipkai? ~I see Shermies everywhere. With the Soviets, and now (voice lowered- sycophantically) with the USA. In my book,a Kubelwagen is a 10% Shermie....a FlakPanzer Wagen is a 50% Shermie and... "

Ipkai(irreverently): "Sorry to interrupt. Ami, but the Shermans are still Ronsons against the Panzer fleet"

Ami (haughtily): "How very unAmerican of you, Ipkai"

Just implement somehow the old doctrines. I liked the 88 from old Luftwaffen-Doctrine or the Tank-Hunter Doctrine with Hetzer and Jagdpanther...

+1 to first post. This is quite crazy how people are getting the same unit that they paid for as a new content, but are still happy. I quite understand relic in fact, if you had a community so happy to be treated like this ; and that when you abuse them, there are still people defending the fact you made them pay the same content twice... I'll just say "you stupid guys love to get treated like this, let's continue".

yeah... because the Osteer and OKW are clone armies with same tech progresion, abilities, specialisation etc etc etc. same with US Army and Soviet faction.

all the sherman variants, rifleman, sturmpioneers, fallschrimjaeger, jagdpanzer, rakentenwerfer, paratroopers, sturmtiger, kingtiger, jackson, wolverine, rear echelon, reinforced barbed wire, and hundreds more aren't new contents.

not to mention the audio for new factions is clearly recycled; i mean relic put up a video of themselves recording tanks, but who can trust them? they are just lazy bastards who make ppl pay twice for the same content.

i was happy with the western front but wow... thanks for opening my eyes. how foolish was i for being content with the "new" contents.

idk to be honest this seems to me that you're searching way to hard for something to complain about. i think also if you add to many new units you have a whole nother issue.

Adding a Wirbelwind and a FlaK 88 would give the game new issues?

Hello? Americans get also new Units in there Commanders! OKW get cloned "copy and paste" Units from Ostheer....

Hetzer remodel of StuG III

In CoH 1 Wehrmacht had the StuG IV and PanzerElite had the Hetzer and it worked great there. People loved PEs Hetzer so much even if Wehrmacht already had a StuG IV.
Affe 1-0 Mr. Someguy
Don t come me with "remodel" to explain relics lazyness in giving us new toys.

You're complaining about "copy and paste" of units when these units fill important niches that OKW are otherwise lacking. If you want copy and paste, look at the relatively large volume of boring and inferior doctrines from the base armies, particularly the ToW and launch dlc commanders.

So OKW is lacking a flackpanzer and a AT gun?
Here i present you the:
Wirbelwind:

And here is the FlaK 88 as a At-gun:

Anyway sorry, wall of text above. I don't mean to say any other opinions are wrong. I guess I just feel differently, perhaps because I see plenty of strategic variety in them, which I personally like over "ooo X unit is cool even though it's functionally a reskinned Y."

Ok remove the US Sherman from the game pls ist just a reskinned T-34.........

As it is, there are enough units that I often find myself thinking "what is that?". And more unique units just means more balancing.

*Yeah new Units are too hard to Balance now lets add old Units from Ostheer because we are too lazy to Balance new Units*

Relic stop trolling us and give us the new toys.Stop selling us the same old crap over and over again.I m so strongly disappointed with this. Who in Gods Name is going to choose a commander that gives you the Ostwind for OKW we are already bored to death about?o_O
