Want more proof that Sega and studio leadership (Relic + CA) are run by pro-ESG clowns resulting in studio layoffs?

YouTube channel Volound shared an eye-opening video on the recent cancellation, with claims from anonymous developers detailing a "total lack of direction" around the game, with one contributor stating many members of the leadership team were "asleep at the wheel but they never seemed to lose their jobs". The same source noted an engine change and "not committing to doing anything adventurous with the game" were all part of Hyenas' ultimate demise.

Another contributor said that internal feedback on the game was poor, adding it was felt that Hyenas would "melt into the background of an already saturated multiplayer shooter market". These claims have since also been corroborated by VGC.

My response to this ongoing CORPORATE shitshow which includes bread and circuses;

What's the news?

Sega wanted in on the 'funny crazy hero shooter' live service business after the boom half a decade ago and decided to make a cheap copy too little too late while handing it to their prime studio known for turn based strategy.
Backed up by no marketing campaign.

Surprisingly, the game was bad and failed. Surprisingly, there will be people fired.

How is that ESG?

Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

I only watched a couple of videos about it, but the characters don't look hugely different from overwatch or similar games.

They just made a bad game that you mostly could have played already years ago. The world only needs so few oversaturated color palette games with exaggerated "laid back" characters.

Rosbone: Knowing how companies work, I imagine a new hire making the menus. The API they are using is complicated and things were hard to figure out. But at some point QA or management should have addressed these things. Usually within 6 months of starting.

KoRneY: @aerafield It's possible that it is underpriced for what it is capable of now, no need to go full retard and take it immediately as a massive problem. It costs 60 more MP than a pz.3 and in 2v2 the barrage can be quite strong.
