Sure lets's all use Pumas to kill late game ISU. Katitof said it so it must work. :thumb:

Why asking to nerf the thing when Axis have 2 things that can hard counter it?
If you somehow get a T-34 to slip past the frontline for it ram your precious Heavy TD than maybe... maybe that is because of someone fault for letting a tank slip past their frontline
Isn't the game told that "Pick a doctrine early let you plan out your attack but pick a doctrine later let you counter your enemy strategy"?
They bring out a heavy AI specialist then you bring out a heavy TD specialist what is so hard about it? If you don't have a counter for something then they gonna exploit it

Wasn't it hans that screamed and rage quit about a kv-1 penning the ass of his panther? Confused as to why every shot was penatraaating?

Well, he did had his moments (he also loves to park vehicles on own tellers and complaining about RNG when they blow up under him).

Dude ISU is fine. I would not nerf it even more which will make it completely useless and the commander as a whole. ISU was designed to fight static game play and it does its job.

So the solution is to dive a 260 fuel ISU with multiple 185 fuel Panthers and hope for the best? Sounds very balanced.

Good thing Soviets can't spam mines, urra+snares, use Zis3 and SU85. :thumb:

If your enemy is that well dug-in with slow units, take your fast panthers and support your allies on the other side of the map for a quick victory on that side of the map and then push back on the slow Soviet player with your teammates.

Alternatively, you can first focus down the SU85 since the ISU will be reloading anyway and then assess if you should pull back or keep on fighting.

I'm sorry that there is no 1-unit A-move solution for defeating a dug in enemy, but that just isn't how the game works.

OP makes very good points and speaks from experience in higher tiers of gameplay. ISU is a huge bully in teamgames and its ability to wipe retreating vet3 full health squads at 70 range is absurdly frustrating, and as he also points out, requires next to 0 input from the player in terms of micro to pull it off. Let's not forget it nullifies its only logical counters as well, AT guns, thus forcing a player to pick Ele or JT just to have a CHANCE to counter it (doesn't guarantee jack.) A single T34 supporting that ISU-152 and you can bet your Heavy TD is getting rammed down its throat whenever it tries to engage said ISU, then donkey-punched by the rest of the Allied players' entire army.

Dropping standard HE range to 55 or 60 (I think AT guns are 60, right?) would help a lot with the incredible abuse an ISU can lay down without even being micromanaged. It doesn't necessarily have to be as low as 50, but it definitely is waay too long right now. This thing has no real counters that aren't buried deep in a doctrine, and even those are soft counters, there is no hard counter. It destroys pretty much everything available non-doctrine from Axis period.

This guy gets it. It should be powerful, its a end of tree heavy tank but its current 0 input wipe machine status does not belong in the current version of the game, if it had 50 range on the he barrage it could still drive into pak range and take it out if you leave it there but you have a chance to get it out alive and keep its veterency.

Someone else suggested giving both ammo types 60 range and changing its aoe profile, it would help but unless you nerf its frontal armor its still going to be immune from return fire from anything outside of a ele.

Your argument holds no weight because the ISU is the definition of a do it all A-move unit, with a spotter its literally the only unit in the game you could attack move across the map, stopping only to change ammo types and snipe both infantry and tanks without receiving any damage due to its 70 range, and unless there a elefant on the map or you dive with a expensive panther horde that's what it does.

If it keeps its 70 range for at rounds and 50 for HE there is a clear way to approach taking the ISU down.

If it had 70 range HE shells and 50 range AT rounds it would be clear how to kill it.

At least the tigers & is2's have to come into return fire and snare range to fuck your infantry & tanks up.

Right now its a combination of the old sturmtiger wiping your units out of the FOW and a elefant.

Ele/JT are not a reliable ISU counter because of IL2 precision bombing + mark target coming in the same doctrine.

Pretty much this. Which is why Ele and JT are soft counters to the ISU, not hard. And more often than the other way around, Ele and JT are faaar more easily dealt with than an ISU.

Don't fix something which isn't broken.

Remember what I've said about you. Ever since u arrived on this forum, you've done nothing but promote Soviets and complain about the nearly non-existant number of underpowered units for SU.

Did you know that even Katitof thinks the ISU is too good. I don't think that 50 range is an appropriate change, but the vast majority of players including allied mains agree ISU is a bit too good. The patch however can only fix so many units at a time. The more pressing OP unit is IS2 which has finally been nerfed. I imagine, you probably thought the IS2 was perfectly fine as well? And what about the current 7 man conscripts? Are they balanced right now? I'd like to hear your opinions.

You know what? Every thread I arrive on i see none other but you always whining about soviet OP allies OP wehr UP to the point it has become annoying. You made a separate thread just to whine about how the USF got a discount in grenades unlock. I mean such minor things trigger you which makes me realize how little threshold you have. Not only that you also become rude against others in your thread Original posts including the balance team who have been doing work for you and us for free.
Yet you're like su 76 need no buff. Cons OP. ISU OP and yada yada yada.

Conscripts have been nerfed in the patch preview so i am not gonna say anything on it.

And about ISU i think it's in a good place right now. Because guess what? Soviets need to devise a strategy too to penetrate the axis Frontline laced with Paks and big paks, mines, raketens to reach the heavy TD of axis. So it is the same on both sides. And oh did i mention shreck blobs? Since we are talking about team games I'm sure if a team has issue dealing with an isu then it's their incompetency for wrong commander selection. Axis have skill planes. Jadpanzers. Retreating raketens. Blitzing panthers and so and so on to counter ISU. Don't make me believe like it's an impossible task which isn't.

Add in round switching delay and no attack on move of isu, slow speed, 22 pop cap. I see no reason why this unit should not excel at its role and cannot be countered.

If is2 has been nerfed then what's the problem? Why go off topic?

Part of the problem with ISU-152 is the rest of the ability available to the commander like the mark target and IL. These combination should simply not be available.

Same goes for ele, recon and stuka.

(edit to include recon as suggest by Acidfreak)

u kno soviets have access to katyusha right? or motors? or doc arty? or AT gun with arty ability? inf? so many things to displace AT guns

Yes, axis have counters, but its about how effective and cost efficient the counters are, having to dive in with expensive panthers with no guarantee of taking out the isu is incredibility risky, the panther doesn't counter the isu in a way like for example, the Jackson would counter a panzer 4. Jagpzners dont have the pen to reliably counter the isu. Just because something is not impossible doesn't mean its okay, what kind of thinking is this.

u srsly telling me, being able to 1 hit full health, max vetted squads at 70 range is okay? srsly gtfo of here.

I do feel we should nerf ISU's HE range, too.

I should not be able to counter Medium, TD, and ATG at the same time.
