Rear Echlon Melee Mode AKA rifle grenade upgrade

Unfortunately if you are within 20 range your rear echlon troops, unable to use rifle grenades will try to run directly into 0 range of enemy units when you target them.
I have two questions.
1. Can we fix this
2. How can i mitigate this but gameplay wise? (Should i just attack ground or let them free fire ect.)

There's definitely a case for making RET grenades manually targeted if only for parity of micro, but that game's not won by RET grenades.
Can say allot about the game since I have not watched and with out the final result on damage done it is difficult to say.
On the other hand there 2 RE that have reached vet 2 by 6:30 so they must have done plenty of damage.

That replay mostly shows a complete and utter lack of Axis light vehicles (222s or 221/223s) that would completely wipe that RET spam off the field. Failing to react with the appropriate counters does not make something OP.

Remove crew repairs for USF (or make them an upgrade that you pay for) and rear echelons will finally start doing what they are supposed to - repair and support. They won't have to erect buildings anyway. Other than that, stop buffing them. They are perfect when combined with bazookas, sweeper and repair abilities. Do you really think that more buffs for them is the way to go? The whole idea of giving them auto nades was controversial enough. Grease guns would be just too much.
