Thread: Comparison of Kat & Stuka after heavy usage31 Jul 2014, 17:00 PM Long story short, katyusha and werfer changed, so stop whining. However, this game will still be blobby and campy at the end of the day with OKW trucks and the same design flaws that people hated and moaned about the british for. You can't always decide where to approach the truck though, and traverse doesn't matter for but a few seconds, it still does enough damage to light vehicles to make it prone to being one shot by any other AT that is there. The theory has never held up in practice, it does consistent damage to light and medium armor. Anyway, it's off topic I guess. In: COH2 Balance

Everyone seemed to hate british in COH1 because of their trucks and emplacements, but OKW gets a truck and bofors emplacement/medic truck combined into one and nobody says anything? It's just stupid design. Dealing with that flak truck is almost impossible. Nothing can sight for your AT gun, it destroys light tanks and infantry. I can't blame anyone for artillerying that shit to death. There's no other viable solutions except losing. I firmly believe all the rocket artillery is too much in this game, however, Relic has introduced a German COH1 British faction hybrid (and it's much more powerful) that just baffles me. I don't blame people for doing what they need to do when they are given the tools to do it. In: COH2 Balance

I feel like both Soviets and Wehr (and Americans with the easy 8) tend to favour using doctrine tanks and not bother with the necessary tech structures. IMO they should require the tech structures for these call ins to be used. I liked it better when doctrine units replaced existing units and had to be produced... Totally agree. THIS is the solution. However, do not replace existing units. Limiting choices sucks. The more units the better. I HATED that with passion. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Easy Eight29 Jul 2014, 23:38 PM Ah, the E8. I will miss it when the free weekend is gone. As far as skipping the major...I never did that. First, the major is too good to skip. Second is that I don't think I ever have enough CPs to call it in by the time I can afford the major anyway. Oh well, everyone will be seeing a lot less of it because they can't get doctrine drops In: COH2 Balance

Things are so horribly imbalanced in 3v3 and up, and even in 2v2 depending on the map, that you almost need a disclaimer for which mode you're referring to. Throw in the nationalist element and bitter history about the war, people with names like SSpanzerwaffengoebbelsSS, every discussion degrades into a total cluster F. Nobody is a zergling IRL so starcraft doesn't have this problem. In: COH2 Gameplay

I realized I added an extra "and" I don't see a reason to have any concerns over balance. This game is just as if not more lethal in infantry combat as COH1 and has the same rules. I would say that building destruction is quicker in this. And yes, lulls in battle, like blizzards especially, could be used to fortify your position and use all that time for something useful. This is not about US riflemen per say, they were just an easily demonstrable example. I used the word rifleman in original post, but I meant "infantry" or rifleman in a generic way. Rifleman are better when they use close range anyway with garands or move in to throw a grenade, so I disagree, but that's not really relevant if EVERY faction could build them. Sandbags are not overpowered, they were not in COH1 and won't be here either. They certainly won't be when every faction has equal opportunity to build them either. So much of this game is built around cover. Maps become desolate when everything blows up and there's no cover anywhere anymore. More cover may also equate to less blobbing as well. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Sandbags for all all factions main infantry by default28 Jul 2014, 02:39 AM I think this is one of my biggest problems with COH2. Why in the hell do you need a doctrine to build sandbags? Why is every factions engineer or rifleman not capable of constructing a sandbag? Every basic infantry of all factions and all engineers need this ability. It just makes no sense. Why waste a slot in a commander for things like this and tank traps? Relic, seriously. In: COH2 Gameplay
