Why has the soviet faction consistently been the worst?
Let's talk about non-doctrinal units.
It has no tank to speak of, the infantry is terrible BUT drains your manpower, it has no non-doctrinal weapons, the snipers are made of paper, katyusha has no AOE, the teching is expensive for the value, all these things, why?
And yet every patch there is nothing done to address this. Why? How hard is it to fix this faction?
Meanwhile Jove and Luvnest have a 70-80 winstreak with soviets. But that's none of my business. |
Cheaper with veterancy at vet 3 by 3-4 manpower replace tripwire mines with part of their defensive buffs they get at vet 3 so it's less of a sudden power shift and then buff Penals accordingly.
Now you got one infantry unit for dealing damage, one meant to absorb, provide utility and everything else that isn't just raw DPS which is how it should be.

But isn't that exactly the reason to pick an armor oriented commander: to use vehicles to support your troops and win the infantry fights? |
In the early game, merge your oldest cons and your combat engineers. This will lead to vet 2 engineers and higher vet cons earlier in the game, maybe vet 3 by the midgame. |

In 2v2 go full t2 with 1 at gun and rush katyusha. Then depending on the situation get another at gun, until you can get the tank you want/need, and double your katyushas. |
Why... THE GARDEN... did they remove prioritize from the AVRE, let alone any vehicle? Why did they remove hold-fire from AT guns (a unit that you WANT armor to get closer to before firing) What is the logic here?!
I'm still waiting for the day they add Lock Turret and Hold fire to vehicles. But I guess catering to the really really really beginner crowd is extremely important. |
Make it prioritise vehicles, then it keeps the turret faced forwards. Not ideal but lets be honest the turret traverse rate is so dire you normally just drive up to whatever you want to kill then reverse the way you came.
Yeah I was using prioritize vehicles to get the job done, but they removed it. I also try to keep it in combat regardless of cooldown on the ability, because it's durable, the coaxial is actually pretty potent, and the enemy can't be sure when I will be firing the PETARD, unlike the case I drive in just for that every half a minute. So it is pretty common for the turret not to be facing forward when needed. |
Ordering the AVRE to fire the PETARD doesn't interrupt the autoattacking coaxial machinegun burst.
So, for example, if two enemy squads approach the AVRE, one from the front and one from the side, and the tank starts firing the coaxial mg to the one at it's side, if you issue an order to fire a PETARD at the squad at the front mid-burst, the burst will first finish, and only then will the turret start turning to face the front and complete the order.
Not that gamebreaking, but still, it adds a considerable amount of delay to the already hard to land ability. |
