T70 can do nothing with puma around.
Why a limited time window unit should be hardcountered before it even has a chance to hit the field?

I think it would make this more of a trade-off than it is; I personally am sympathetic to those not wanting to nerf or remove this ability but making it a vet 1 ability would make this more like the desperate act that it should be than a 300mp 90fu snare.
What is trade off for using blitz or comabt blitz? What is trade off for radio net? What is trade off for cromwells shot? Do any of these make you lose a tank? |
What if we made this a veteran ability?

In 5 duels with IS2 vs double stugs or panther:
Stugs win 4 out of 5 fights
Panther wins 1 out of 5 fights
In a series of 5 duels with 2 stugs vs kv-1 and panther vs kv-1
Stugs win all 5 fights, KV-1 manages to kill 2 stugs in different duels
Panther wins only 4 fights
In a trial of 2 brumbar vs 5 guards squads, and 3 ostwinds vs 5 guards squads
7 guards models remain from fighting 2 brumbars
6 guards models remain from fighting 3 ostwinds
In short t3 is the most cost effective vehicle tier for OST. It is at a minimum equal which means teching to t4 is a waste of resources and time.

Needs lower armour so a 222 with a gren for support can force it away, currently means you cant cap with solo squads as wehr or it WILL wipe that unit even if you retreat early

OST t4 isn't better than t3. The units are more expensive than they are better. Two stugs will do better than a panther while costing about the same.
Against churchill, yes.
Against IS-2 or KV-1/2, no.
Same with brummbar vs ostwind vs single squads and blobs. |
As vipper would put it - it would create inconsistencies.
In this specific case, you'd see drama from OKW about why luchs can't do it despite having identical weapon.
That and you're forcing a completely different role and timing on the vehicle, trying to shape it in what it clearly isn't and wasn't meant to be. |
Then consider making the 222 cost 300mp 50 fuel but get more health, damage and penetration so its anti tank improves.
Its a lightly armored scout car, not a light tank nor a light tank counter.
It'll never go up against actual light tanks. |
