Well, what's the harm in having a thread like this? Seems like useful, relevant information to me.
look at GR and you know why it's a bad idea.
If they're using a load balancer front end, then flushing the dns cache could work to get an available server IP instead of the one cached in your local dns records. So don't feel crazy for trying this.
if they're using a load balancer, the server IPs are not saved in the DNS entry (hence, load balancer... it's the load balancer that balances load, not the dns server)
