FHQ should be build only on OWNED territories.
Why it can be build on an enemy owned territory while the bunkers, trenches and OKW trucks only can be deployed on owed territories which must be connected?
I'm not talking about if the FHQ is OP. It's fine for its cost, but it should be build only on connected territory which have been captured. Deploying a FHQ in the German area gives the Allies a big advantage in early game, because the battlefield will be set to area which is so close to Axis. Axis have to fight with less territories. Especially in some narrow maps which have mass strong buildings.

Making unfounded assumptions benefits the discussion in no way whatsoever. Brummbar does everything somewhat well, but not well enough to make up for the cost and tech... especially since the StuG E does all it can do for less than half the price not even including teching and building cost, while also having something like a third of the reload time.

IMO,The effective units of Ostheer: LMG-grenadier,mortar,MG42,ATG,P4,ostwind,stug,tiger,and tiger ACE. The others are ridiculous.Someone mentioned elephant,it is bad now,70 range makes it fairly usless, Relic nerfed this unit too much. When the soviet player dont have a ISU, I prefer 2 ATG to counter armors. I wont spend 245 fuel to get a unit just have 10m more range. It a waste of resources. Also I dont know how they balance the ISU and elephant.Atm, you can see the ISU , but you cant see an elephant now. |
I have played with Ostheer for 1000 hours at least. The godamn Ostheer absolutely needs some love. There are so many usless units after several nerfs during patches of these months: sniper, PG, 222, 251FHT, the whole T4 units.
Ost sniper's cost should be decreased slightly. A unit which only has 1 member and half HP of the Soviet snipers should have less MP cost, 360 mp is too much for this unit.
PG is always a big joke after the WFA coming out. Buff it or remove it from game.
T2 is more expensive than before and 222/251 comes out so lately. Lots of counters have been ready and they will beat the crap out of Ost light vehicles. I cant find out any reason for upgrading a 251HT with 120 munitions when I tech to T3. It is just a huge waste of resources cuz Ost FHT has shorter range than Soviet AA and USF AA so that it have less durability. There are many uses for munitions so dont waste them.
There was lots of opinions about Ost T4 units, so no more to add. |
SU76 should be deleted forever. It is the most usless unit in the game. |
GUYS,so many Ninja changes lol. T34/76's armor from 140 to 150,rear armor from 70 to 75. Idk how many other Ninja changes there are.

The issue is not can unit X counter unit Z. Because the ost has every tool needed to counter the am ones and do so cost effectively especially if you have the mobile defence doctrine.
The reason why this match up is unbalanced is early game economics. the fastest and least expensive tech AM vs the slowest and most expensive and slowest tech (ost)
to get to tier 2 ost player needs to sacrifice 400 mp. the am zero as they gain either a LT or CPT for free. thats a lot of mp early game. But the ost is forced to buy a pak to deal with the Stuart or the AA track it sets them back another 320 mp. The am on the other hand doesnt have to worry about enemy tanks for quite a while and flak and rifles can handle anything tier 2 ost. so the next fuel mp and ammo can be invested to acquire even more AI power.
In total the ost is set back nearly 720 mp in the very few minutes of the game. that is the key reason why the matchup is so god awfully imbalanced.
That's the key point. MP is the biggest issue of Ostheer. |
T4 doesn't need a teching cost decrease.
Going T4 should be a risk, I don't see why Ostheer should be able to have all their tech unlocked every game when the soviets are locked out of half of their buildings in almost every game because of the tech costs, add to that that soviets t3 and t4 have completely different purposes and the problem is even bigger than not being able to go t4 for ostheer, after all I don't see anyone whining about the fact that some doctrines are mandatory for soviets to fill gaps left by their tech choice? (ie going T1 without guards).
The panther just needs better anti infantry at close range (given that it has 50 range), that's it.
Soviet faction is quite good now, maybe the strongest faction now, so no discussion here.
Would you explain why Ostheer should tech to T4 spending 200+160 manpower while soviet only need 240 manpower? And why USF can get to T4 with 1 infantry unit for free only cost 200 manpower and 80 fuel? Allright both OK if the Ostheer T4 units are good enough, but now panther and Brummbar are really not effective. |
Yesterday, one of my Panzer IV left battle feild, having 160 HP (1 shot for most tanks to destroy it), then it was detroyed by Katyusha 's barrage, btw, the repairing pioneers also were wiped out... |
I don't trust the Brummbar enough to invest in it unless the game is won. Ever since its scatter got bumped up, it has a nasty habit of missing its intended target when it rolls up because rotating also counts as moving meaning the first shot tends to miss which is vital due to its long reload. That's a unit that needs hold fire.
And T4 is still too expensive to transition in smaller games when you have to pay 90 fuel to access options ranging from 160-175 fuel unless its the Pwerfer on top of, what you're stating, possible a single P4 125 for fuel and/or StuG at 80 fuel.
You also have to pay 200+160 manpower to T4. The cost of teching to ost T4 is too expensive and the time is too long. However , USF can spend 200 manpower and 80 fuel to get to T4 and 1 infantry unit for free. I still cant understand how this was designed by relic. |
